Not sure what the deal was with it. It just didn't want to come up out of that hole. I was over at the house were it lives lastnight and we did take the clutch apart and noticed some really bad slipping/rubbing marks, like maybe the belt was too loose.

I think one of these days I will end up paying but I am just not on this as much as many of you are. I come to post a few things and ask some questions and give some answers. I guess i have just one problem with this whole thing. Personally i wont use any of the new features that are being offered. Here is a list of all the new features:
(1) Instant messaging
(2) Personal Blog
(3) Photo Albums
(4) My garage
(5) Social Groups
(6) Chat Box
(7) Bold Italics name (woo freaking hoo.
(8) Title (again woo freaking hoo)
(9)Opening and closing your own thread
(10) Tag others threads
(11) Your ability to upload pictures directly to posts will increase to (1024x768).
(12) You will be able to increase your Avatar to (150x150) instead of 100x100.
(13) Your Signature block will now allow you to include an Image.
(14) A new option will appear that allows you to chose to hide your user reputation from others.
(15) Your personal Photo Album size will increase to (1280x1024).
(16) You will have increased control over your participation in Social Groups.
(17) Treadmill (again woo freaking hoo)
(18) You will see a new private forum that contains your digital subscription to SnoWest Magazine
(19) Your paid membership also entitles you to several new features in the new Classifieds section that will allow you to make your ads stand out from all the others...

So out of all these new features honesty, none of them really apeal to me right now. Maybe down the road, but I just think the causal users like me should be able to read and post anywhere for free and all these new features should be made available to those that want them for a fee.

I think thats the biggest thing for me is that the basic features have been taken away. It's like they came into my house and said you owe me xxx $$$$ or I am going to kick you out onto the lawn and all you can do is look through the windows into your house until you pay me, oh and the blinds wioll only be open for a few minutes at a time. I think this paid membership would have had a much better response if they came in and said "Here are a bunch of new features that you can have if you pay xxx $$$. If you don't pay that's fine you can keep doing what you are doing but all these new features will not be available until you pay." The owners would get their money, maybe over a longer period of time, but more and more people would have converted on their own instead of being forced to make a decision. By taking away what we have had for so long it made people pissed and express their opions in agner.

I dont know what I will do yet, Like i have heard before, in todays economy every penny counts and it is sad to see some of the good guys get kicked out just because they can't come up with the $30 buck right now. I know I can scrap up the money sometime but I will just have to see how it goes.

I won't be sticking around, this site will either go the way of the dinosaur when the user contributed content stops growing or another site with a better business models will come along. The best part is they can't give a firm date on the switch over, is it because they don't think it's going to work, or is it because they have already figured out they can't run a site with the few people who have decided to stick around.

That's pretty much the way I feel. I could really care less about 99% of the new features! A couple of them are KINDA cool, but eh, whatever. The basics (reading, posting, PMing, etc.) should stay free. If you want all the bells and whistles, then "Pay up sucka!!" I am a member of a couple other forums that give you the OPTION of uprading and using premium services, or just stay basic and still read and post on an unlimited basis. They also give you some swag when you pay (Shirts, decals, etc.) I think that would have been accepted a lot better than forcing everyone to pay. For now, I'll just be keeping my eye on some of the other sites, to see if any of them start to pick up (Seeing LOTS of familiar names on one of them in particular). That site will most likely end up being my new home. I'll probably be more of a lurker on here now. Don't even care to really post much over here now. Pretty much had the wind knocked outta my sails here this week.

Like many have said, I have made a lot of good friends on here, and hooked up for rides with lots of great people. Not saying that all these friends aren't worth $10 a year, but I'm not paying it JUST to have posting privledges. Most of these people have my #, and those that don't can PM me (at least I think I can still send a PM as a "Nothing" Basic Member, or did you guys pull that rug out from under us too!).

Ok, I've said my piece. Gonna head over to the "other" site now and see what's happenin.
