How many have issues with their stock boards failing?

over 1800 miles on mine and straight as they were the day i bought it. i'm a very aggresive rider but not a jumper, we stick to the trees so maybe thats the difference. we have a few in our group and no one has bent them. well except for one guy who had an incident with a stump, but his is bent up, does that count;) wonder how many of the guys who have bent them on the pro have also bent them on other sleds they've owned??? i do have some rock gouges on the bottoms from constantly riding on one ski, but have done that to almost every sled i've owned...

I jumped and mine are really bent. Will completely fail this year if left stock. But thanks to Skins that wont happen.

are the skins ones wider than factory? if so any idea how much? i find the poo boards to be to narrow even in the front. i'm used to doo's boards so that might be an issue.

The airframes are about an inch wider all the way through. I completely destroyed my stock boards...broke the outer tube, broke inner supports.

You never have to kick again with the airframes either. Never. Especially if you wrap your tunnel- say goodbye to snow buildup.

How are those air frames for traction? I've got some coming they look like there isn't grip?

It's a picture before I installed the traction screws. They give you way more than you would need, and 2 drill bits for the inner/outer bars as well. The traction is a non issue when you complete the install Chris, you will love them. The added feature that I like also is the outer bars are vertically only a fraction above the inner bars, so your feet dont sit at an angle, yours legs arent bowed...unlike the stock boards. I dont know anyone whos boot fits inside a Pro running board unless its a Switchback...

mine fit just fine :D but i might need some air frames to.

my boards are not cracked a little bent and my sled has taken a spill off a sled deck.

weak running boards

It's ironic that until the Pro came out, I had never seen "reinforcements" for footboards. Now, Polaris sells them as an accessory. Why would Polaris offer them, unless Polaris knows the stock ones are weak?:face-icon-small-con

Tired the reinforcements but they caused snow to build up faster and I still had a cross piece crack. Friend that I ride with has not had a any cracking but I think he slides his feet around more and does not have the trouble I had with build up.

The airframes are very nice. I only rode 150 miles in spring snow with them on, but they are rock solid, zero flex. Once you get over taking a cutoff wheel to your new sled, install is not bad. Just a little time consuming getting the location of the traction screws measured and center punched. I put on the screws before I installed the boards.

Hahaha, Me Too!!

Thanks Matt,
I've never had any trouble with the BB on an Edge or IQ, but am going to install them on the Pro's with rivets and a bead of the Lords adheisive all the way around.
What the heck, maybe I'll jump off somthing someday, and I sure haven't gotten lighter over the years!!

Bag

Hey Jer, let me know when you do this. I have the tool for installing the squish rivets. We'll get some more rivets from VanAmburg. Plus I have all the cutting tools that we woill need. BTW, heading to Moses next Saturday to order my new shop building kit from Ziggy's. Won't be long and I'll have a place to work on the toys. YES!!!

I have personally just installed the polaris tunnel stiffners and i have seen no problems, but i really like the Air Frames and the BB's i have installed all three types and i like them all... The polaris tunnel stinfners dont void warrenty when the others do.. but the BB's and Air Frames provide so much more traction!

No, poo has sold reinforcements for years...all the way back to the edge chassis for certain....

Doo has sold them for years as well, not sure about AC, but I am willing to bet they do as well. On my XP's rentals I always have bent running boards. I haven't bent my Pro's, but if you ride a certain way you will bend them on just about any manufacture unless you reinforce. No need to complain, some people are just harder on their equipment than others. If so, reinforce.
