Just wondering how the riding is in preston or soda after all the rain down low? Thinking about heading up friday.

I went up Paris on sat and it was great. Went back up on sun to help a friend with a sled. It must have rained on sat night because there was a 1/4 inch of ice on top of everything. Hard to ride in and made our sleds dart around.
I sure hope it melted on Monday because it could be really dangerous up there. So becareful.

Yup, 1/4" ice layer on Monday. I have never seen anything like it. Like Polaris said, made our sleds dart all over. It is going to be one dangerous SOB when we get some snow on top of the ice.

Ride safe!

Dang. I was hoping that Monday might have hopefully warmed up enough to melt that ice. We got more snow on Monday night here in Montpelier so who knows how much it put down up there. With that ice layer, it's gonna be dang scary. Need to let everyone know to be careful.

Went up yest and torn up Paris again, foot of new, seems to of bonded to the icing layer pretty good.
It must of warmed up before the new snow hit, it was blue bird and sugar...

Had a good ride up 8 mile, it wasn't great because it was socked in with fog all day (like it usually is) and snowing pretty hard. Seems like the description for Preston fits here as well. Plenty of snow, there's a good top layer of powder from anywhere to 6-18 inches depending on which hill you're climbing, then a layer of crust, and then prob. 3-4 feet under that. We didn't see any slides, but if you go up the wrong hill it's a pretty good bet it will come down. Fun day though and for early season it's pretty deep.
