How is the Alpha One 600 working out?

Thanks MTN_Viper, I appreciate the great ride report,

I guess my biggest concern is that my last two sleds have been a M8's (09 and 15) with a complete SLP single pipes on them. One with SLP stage III and one stage II (160-170 hp). Would I be happy with the power of 600 at 125-130 hp?

Yes, I do want electric start and a lightweight battery on my next sled or SHOT.

That's a tough one to answer as we all have different expectations of how much is enough horsepower:face-icon-small-win
I can tell you that it doesn't feel under powered, but it doesn't have the pull of a 800 either.
We had no problem getting around in the deep snow with it and it seemed to have plenty of power to have a good time!

I get why you want electric start, I'm use to 4 four strokes and I have it on the mountain cat as well. Plus I actually like the longer/taller E/S seat better. I'll stand and kneel quite a bit during the day, but at the end of the day when I'm getting tired it's nice to be able to sit down in comfort for the rough trail ride back to the truck.

I've ridden the Alpha 6 and 8 one after the other consistently throughout this winter and they are both great sleds. Both sleds have aftermarket cans on them. Putting a can on the 600 really woke the sled up on the bottom end. I'm a short guy, so the handlebar height is perfect for me on the Alpha 6. The Alpha 8 handlebars are just a tad bit too high for me so I haven't gotten comfortable on that sled yet. My experience on the Alpha 6 is that it will sidehill virtually anywhere that any 800 sled will. I find myself climbing and sidehilling with more speed to compensate for the lesser power and to maintain momentum. The 600 just feels so easy and confidence inspiring to go fast on in technical terrain.

I have not ridden an Alpha 600, so my .02 is somewhat limited. The wife has a 2017 ctec2 M6000 with a 141” 2.25. I’ll tell you that I put a couple hundred miles on it last year and it went everywhere the 800 mountain sleds went with little effort. The motor is pretty amazing. Correct me if I’m wrong but it’s essentially the same motor of current m6000/Alpha 600.

When I combine this with how efficiently my Alpha 1 puts power to the monster 3” track, I don’t see how this could be anything except a home run sled. I would fully anticipate that the Alpha 600 is a very impressive and fully capable mountain sled. The wife’s sled is a little ripper, I would imagine the alpha 6 takes it to an entirely new level.
