Not a thread of this kit vs that kit turning into a pissing match. Lets just hear about your kit and honest thoughts. From the purchase to install, tunning and reliability. Pump gas race gas, BD,twisted, Push, Cutler ect... Im on the fence and would like to hear peeps thoughts. Thanks guys

Cutler stage II, just bought my second one.

2100 miles on one, 100 on another.

It's been as reliable as a stock sled, no turbo related issues in 2k miles (bearing in the dd, ground wire from bending post, and a new set of pistons at 1600 miles)

Tend to run around 10-12 psi, but that's real high altitude, so that'd be equal to probably 8-10 for most people I suppose. It feels great & I love the ability to turn it up here & there to get a big blast.

Great, 09 Twisted HCR ran mainly at 6lbs, bought it used for less than I bought my m1000 new, got it with 1100miles I have had it out 6x and Loving it. Upgraded to a KMOD skid and a 162 soon.

Hey WyoBoy I changed my name here on Snowest but I'm happy to hear your enjoying that HCR!! That sled rips for sure:face-icon-small-coo

2010 M8 Cutler stage III. Love the hell out of it!!!! Run 12-14lbs with it. Did pistons and reeds at 800 miles. Pistons looked great just didnt want a big problem. Maintenence is key to keeping a boosted sled running great time after time. :face-icon-small-hap

Boondocker pump gas last year. Ran great just like stock with "boost". 8 -10lbs with premium and a little c12 for good measure. OVS propane this year. So far so good time will tell.

2009 with Twisted Race Gas 1800 miles with zero turbo issues. Ran 14-15lbs all year last year. Bought carry over 2010 put another twisted race gas on . Shaine's customer service has been awesome. 2 other twisted turbos have both been reliable in our group.

You guys running over 12psi, how long do reeds last? you running m8 reeds or 1000 reeds? The cutler kit is a nice kit i never heard much about until now. Looked at it online today and everything looks like quality parts. The one thing i like about the cutler is the way the turbo is turned around so the air intake is taken from out of the top of the hood . IMO it would draw more air than the others that draw air from the front of the sled.

I feel that reed damage is a factor of pull length. We changed reeds last year & at 1600 miles they looked like new. We're jumpers though, we do climb a lot, but it's not our all day, one after another kind of climbing, I feel that this is why our reeds were in good shape.

We use M1000 reeds, single stacked.

I don't like the cutler kit for that reason, No way to do a tunnel dump. Twisted also has cold air intakes that route the intake to outside the hood. You can see them on there website. All the kits right now are good kits, I think this is by far the best year for quality kits. So if your looking for one I would find a dealer that rides one and cares about what they do and use the kit they use. I like twisted because its clean (not fancy) and to the point, there kit eliminates unneeded items, and makes big power easy.

in over 2k miles... never had a pow bog. Not sure why, but it just doesn't happen.

The cutler is quiet enough that aside from the concern of bog, I'd see no reason to run a tunnel dump. (in general though, I think the tunnel dump is a great idea, especially for a loud sled.

Purchased a brand new bd pump gas kit non innercooled this past fall. Installed it on a 2007 m8 with 2200 miles on it. I have been riding it every weekend this season and it has been perfect! Havn't touched a single thing. No tuning at all. The starting #'s that game in the box are pretty much spot on. So far the new bd pump gas kit has been 100% just pull the rope reliable! I love it! my only regret up to this point is not buying their full race gas set up from the start.

Mine is not quiet, its still really load unless you are in 3ft and as soon as it comes up its loud again. But going slow I would get the bog with it coming out the side panel now there is no bog.

I have never had a bog on my Cutler kit. I agree that there isnt a bad kit on the market today. The kit that fits you the best is the best kit for you. I used Cutler cuz he is a cat only guy and I have a good relationship with him having used a lot of his products in the past at dealerships I have worked at.

IMO there are three turbo builders, Twisted, O V S, Cutlers. tested and proven, and they are reasonably close in price because they have all found out what it takes to really get it to run. every year there is a new builder that is going to offer a kit for half the price. then you never hear of them again. wyoboy is right turbos are nothing like even 2 years ago. but it comes to customer service every turbo is going to need tlc so you have to have someone who is going to answer your questions. I did alittle write up on my dealings with twisted and i wouldnt have one problem recomending them to anyone.

Which kit can be a true PUMP gas premium only setup? No mixing "just to be safe" BS... Pump 91 ONLY.

I've been so spoiled with the bullet proof turbo Nytro on 91 octane pump gas.
I never worry about cold temps, mid range leaness, WOT EGTs, blah blah etc.
I turn key, pull trigger, and focus my mind and eyes on the terrain...not gauges and concern about lean spots.

Is their a kit/2 stroke to that point yet?

I have no problem running safe boost and forgetting it..
Are any pump gas kits adjustable, at all?
The one thing I'd consider a bonus, is adjusting boost to keep clutching working from low elevation to high elevation changes. And I mean a change in riding areas. From 5k ft, to 10k+ ft.

For the record, I'm not saying a Nytro is better, or that Cat/turbos suck, I'm really just looking for some honest info on the subject.
I'm really wondering if I can honestly expect the stupid simple, bullet proofness I get from my Impulse Nytro in a Cat turbo..
