How far would you go???

Divorce

Several years ago had to get to the point of giving up everything including the wife to make sure I could take care of the kids. It had to get to that point before she woke up and realized what she was giving up.

Still riding but it ranks up there above the wife and below the kids.

Even a knee surgery didn't stop me riding. That was the first thing I told the physical therapist that I was going to ride again that following winter.

Given up for the sport?

Lol, I have given up lots for snowmobiling. However, snowmobiling has been very good to me. I have had so many experiences, and met so many new people. I am very fortunate that I have given up things for snowmobiling.

The Snowest forum rocks.

KP = kitchen patrol USN-R. Yeah, I'm alot older and beat up more than I was 30 years ago when I got on my first sled. Complete shoulder and knee replacements and damaged C4/5. Someone once said "to be old and smart you must first be young and stupid", well I've done alot of stupid things but giving up riding will not be one of them.:beer;

+1.

I would do the following:

1) Ride a bit less to still have all the goodies.
2) Travel one trip for a long period of time or ride closer or with more
people to split the costs. Comfort sometimes needs to take a bit of a back seat to what we have been spoiled with lately. Remember the late 80's when everyone was just fine in a extend cab?
3) Sell ATV, but that don't cost all that much when it's paid for and you only ride it about 600 miles a year.
4) I live in a very modest house, nothing fancy so I can have good things. A house is just a place to sleep and keep dry, it's not a status symbol. Just as long as it's big enough for your family and looks presentable it's just fine.
5) Wife/GF, wouldn't be attached if they didn't like the sport or were keeping me from enjoying it.
6) Snomobiling has been apart of me since age 8 with my own sled, wouldn't know any difference.
7) Maybe groom more for the local club just so I can stay around it like I do right now.
