How far would you go???

Rather than giving up sledding...

Ride old sleds? How old before you would quit riding?

Not sign your kid up for sports, so there are less conflicts?

Dump the wife because she refuses to be a sledder?

Live in a "basic home" so you can afford sledding?

Drive a POS truck, saving money for sleds?

Give up other hobbies like Motorcycles/quads?

Where does snowmachining fit in your priorities?

Yep!!!!:D

If I lost a buddy to the sport.............

I would give it up.

Ride safe!

If it is me that is lost, I would want you to keep riding.

Addressing the list I have givin up all but the kids sports thing.

O' and I gave up the wife becuase she gave up on us. She was a sledder.

I joined a club 2 years ago because my dirt bike and sled injuries have finally caught up with me---my 04 REV with light weight mods is plenty good enough for me and I do not intend to go new in the future or spend more sled bucks. I found new riding partners that are OK with Plan B.:D

Even though most high marking and tree bashing has been replaced with meadow riding, it is alot better than staying home pulling KP.:face-icon-small-win

Why would you quit. If you love the sport your buddy must have also.
People die in cars everyday and you still drive to work.

I've already given up alot so I can ride, sledding is my favorite hobby. I now have two kids to put through college. I ride 2003 technology, my truck is 8 years old but still runs great. I don't do any out of state hunting trips anymore. I don't hunt upland game anymore. The old tilt deck trailer is on its last leg but can be patched together for a few more seasons. I shut down boating early in the summer so I can start saving for winter. Sledding Rules in my world, everything else is compromised.

i had sandrails ,quads ,boats and street bikes ! only thing i have left and care to ride is my sleds ! i never used the others so i sold them ( more gas for sleddin )! no new trucks, no new inclosed trailer, no sled deck not a huge house . i could care less what i drive/ pull behind my vehicle ! i do care what i ride ! my sled is my life outside my family ! everything else is last ! i drive a 98 yukon with a 85 spirit /homemade trailer . but i have nice sleds for all my family . u have to keep your love at the top of ur list ! ( SLEDDING my one true love )

I wouldn't quit unless my body didn't allow me to. And that would take a lot.

I'm having to pair down the toys due to back problems and finances. I'm selling a quad, my wife's sled, possibly the old Phazer, and the camper. We will keep the wife's quad for now and my sled. I probably should sell it, but hopefully I can keep it.

I would give it up maybe if I couldn't find any more riding partners. I have alot right now but if they all gave it up I wouldn't do it by myself....It would cost too much anyway.

If I only had a mid 70's freeair and went tobagganning once every two weekends I would just because I love getting out and enjoying the winter.

Drive a POS truck, saving money for sleds?
Had to before, furtunate now. I'd do it again.

Give up other hobbies like Motorcycles/quads?
Only took up both sports after I got a little more established. Sledding always wins out.

Right up there.

Haven't had to deal withthe other ones.

As I get older, sledding keeps dropping down the list............

I think it will come back after I get my kids out of the house............

Kids are at the top of the list.

I ride a 1999 Summit X

I will give you one guess when my first kid was born

For me it would have to be health related problem to take me out of sledding. My knees and back were sending messages last season, but I'll give up ice hockey goaltending before I'll give up snowmobiling. I don't ride like I used to anymore either. Less risk means less stuck and my back feels way better the next day if I don't have to spend hours digging out. Getting old SUCKS!!!!!

I'd have to echo the above. Ever year it seems it gets harder to pull off the same stuff I did the year before. Heatlh will definitely limit what I can do, but I'll still ride, possibly a little milder than the previous season.
