How excited do you get the night/day before sledding?

ok...there is a buzz in the air already about sledding, even though for some of us could be another 4/5 months away.

I usually can't sleep! When I know it's going to be good, or even think it could be good, I'm lucky to get maybe 2/3 hours of sleep, and that's going to bed at about 10. I just lay there thinking about the good days in the past, hoping it's going to be just as good the next day, wishing for a blue bird day.

And my wife makes fun of me for being 36 years old, and getting so excited about sledding!

Is this abnormal?

I do the same... get the sled loaded up the night before (keeps the neighbors happy, they don't enjoy the sound of a revving 900 at 5 in the morning), gear set out and ready to go... by the time I do finally crawl into bed, i'm only getting a few hours of sleep anyways.

I normally hate mornings, but when the sled's ready to go it doesn't take much to get me out of bed.

I dont have trouble sleeping but its the only days of the year I get up 4:30 AM without a seconds hesitation!

I usually dont sleep.....if we are going on a trip we leave at the night, make it to our destination in the morning and go sledding then after that slip into a small coma for 12-14 hours and do it all again....

We do the same. Usually leave around 5 pm, drive through the night and ride the next morning.

I always have trouble sleeping. I'll get up a half a dozen times and check to see if it is time to get up yet. It is like Christmas when I was a kid.

ditto on this also....the drive seems to be alot shorter also when is through the night instead. but man that bed feels comfortable the next night after a full day of sledding

WOW! When you guys do this, do you ride just for a day then come back on Sunday or what?

Cant sleep..so drink a few of :beer;:beer;:beer; and will take the edge off. If you have ever ridden with me you will note my unusual behaviour of rubbing my hands together quickly like Mr. Miagi to heal Karate kid. Starts usually the night before and I doo it more often as the event draws nearer.

You all have issues... serious issues. :D

sometimes when i cant sleep i will just stare out the window and watch it snow... :o

Only time I don't hit the snooze button. I set two alarms so that my buddies are not waiting on me (I never need the 2nd one). I'm up early enough to get breakfast, that's never the case during the week.

when we go, we usually leave on a thursday night and sled all day friday, saturday and most of a day sunday and drive home sunday night to be back for work and school on monday morning:D:beer;

I can`t sleep all that well either, make sure all my gear is ready, sandwichs made, gatorades, powerbars, get nervous enough I set out my cloths for that day. watch a few sledding videos expecially the Breath one on youtube, kinda relaxes me, try to sleep, not. probably why after days ride I`m so soar expecially in the spring when the trails are so frigin rough take me about 2 days to heal. and my sled rides pretty good has newer suspension and rev seat for sitting more comfortable. makes huge difference. about the time I do get to sleep fews like a few minutes later alarm goes off.

Maybe this year I won`t try to take out a hidden stump under the powder on the first ride.

i usually sleep like a baby unless were leaving for a big trip the next day then i'm a little wrestless. but i'm always wide awake and out of bed the second the alarm goes of regaurdless of how early!
