How does the slp pipe work on the xp, very impressive?

Typically you need to re-jet, the increase in power has to come from some where. It's usually from the ability to burn more fuel, sometimes from effiecency.

Yes you do have to rejet, especially if you are also using the slp head.

what are you generally jetting too, i havn't touched my jetting yet just running the slp pipe combo for the past 250miles, 09X, 6000-8000 ft

Sorry to hi-jack but i think it's related. I put the SLP 13:1 head on my 08 and plugs look good with stock jetting. The head is a noticable 5 hp. (guesstimate) mostly midrange

I have the SLP 8000+ head,Ypipe and pipe. SLP told me to use 500 jets and raise the needles 20 thousandths from stock and mine runs great.

I put the y-pipe, pipe, can combo on stock 08 and with stock jetting I'm still a little rich. sounds better and lighter with a little bit more power, I picked up 3 mph track speed, but I also ran a different spring in secondary. 8000 plus feet.

Just put my slp y pipe, pipe, and super Q can on the 09. Sounds bad a$$. I did no jetting. I'll test it tomorrow and let ya all know.

what happened to the rule of more power, bigger jets,more fuel. I can see maybe a head design being more efficient but pipes?

A good pipe design can be used 2 'tune' the carburator. My guess is the slp pipe combo takes advantage of the rich factory jetting. Just my .02

I have the Pipe, Y-pipe, 8000' and up head, and an HPS can. I'll check jetting tomorrow, but it ran sweet last week.
