How Do I Gain Weight Without Eating?

Due to stress, I've lost a lot of weight. I can't eat much so it's getting worse. Any suggestions on what to do to put weight on without eating more?

My stomach has shrunk so I physically can't eat much. But 2 people very dear to me have expressed major concern over my weight. One being my brother.

I've heard of Ensure, but any thoughts are appreciated. And I can't do protein shakes. I tried that before, didn't work.

That said........ Get out of Fouled plug, turn off the news, cancel the subscription to the news paper and go have a :beer;.
 
You wont gain weight if you live in stress. Ditch the stress, its not worth the health risks.
 
I know a plan that is almost guaranteed to make you gain weight.
Go on a diet. 95% of the people that try it gain a lot of weight.
 
You need to get as many calories as you can. Try weight gainer shakes. Some of them have 2500 calories per serving. And they've come a long way, some are really tasty. Plus all the calories will give you energy which might help your depression somewhat.
 
Your post is very scarry to me as my daughter came up with anorexia beginning about 1982 and after 2 hospital stays of 30 days in what was basically the same as drug/alcohol intervention, months of phsyc sessions we pretty much only contolled it. 27 years later the problem still exists and it causes alot of anxiety within the family. I hope you are not into exercising heavily and living on veggies you would sound just like my daughter and I would not wish that on anyone. I would sugest looking to alternative practitioners and nutritional therapy, I did get my daughter to finally try it and she was beginning to do great but as in alcoholisim she slipped and hasn't continued to follow through. I agree with this , also hit the weights !! Build some muscle , have some fun !! Weightlifting will get your adrenaline pumping !!
 
have unsafe sex..no eating and you will pick up pounds...but you will drop a few of them back of in about nine months
 
Start working out and get your matabolism going so you get an appetite. Mix your protien powder with Ice cream before bed. O-yea when you lift. Lift heavy weights, low reps.

Start eating junk food until you get your appetite back. The worse you eat the hungrier you'll get.
 
Jesus swamp you could be my dad from your post.. My step sister is exactly as you describe...... I feel for you man its a very very nasty disease.. I wish you all the best..

Wired I am in the same boat as you I had a medical problem that caused me to drop nearly 35 pounds. From 210 to 175 I am slowly trying to get an appetite back.. The first thing I would suggest is look at it this way.. You just saved some serious coin! You wont have to shave near as much weight off your sled now to get that extra highmark. Try to get active and eat as high of calorie foods as you can.. I would try some of the new shakes as they are getting better at making them palatable.. Hope you get rid of the stress life is too short..

roll a big one. Stimulates appetite and reduces nausea. The paranoia however might not blend well with your current anxiety issues.

In fact this is the only time I eat, I mean devour, filet-o-fish sandwiches....that is if i can control my laughter enough to place the order.

The plus side to working out as well is that it will help you with your stress levels, and it will release endorphins and help you to feel better, trust me I know it works. As far as wanting to GAIN weight, its like what some other guys have said its gonna come down to calorie intake. Ice cream is loaded with calories and not all that filling, alot of the energy bars, stuff like that. Whatever is causing your stress though is going to be the biggest part of your problem with gaining weight. High stress levels cause some to gain and some to lose.

What about Meal Replacement drinks? Thicker then staight protein and you get mega calories. Do you not like protein cause you mixed with water? I always had to use chocolate milk.

Going back to Jsled, just relax and don't worry man, it's like Bob Marley,3 Little Birds.
 
X2! Gotta try these. Mix in a blender with a banana and a scoop of ice cream (cookie dough is great) and it will certainly provide some great calories.

1st and foremost, either learn to cope with the stress, or failing that, eliminate it. Develop ways to control the stressors and then implement some of the above suggestions. Otherwise you're likely to yo-yo up and down.

Amazingly I actually agree with Mile high for once.

Go see a doc, Dietary specialist or even a shrink if you need to, address the original issue of the stress and the diet should fall into place.

Everyone gets all freaked out and a macho complex about dealing with stress. If you can't get away from it, and obviously aren't dealing with it in a constructive manor, then you may very well need help with it.

It could be other things like a hormonal imbalance or a sign of something much more serious.

GO SEE A DOC, PLEASE.
