How cold is to cold to ride?

bring T shirt....

when we go north...like near hudsons bay..its cold...just bring xtra shirt,if you sweat ...when you get stuck...you will need a shirt to change...this will help you stay warm..or spend lots of money on hunting gear and then you will have clothing under your suit to wik away the sweat...

in the black hills i think 2007 the record was set at like -25 with windchills at -40 and THAT was cold...The pipes in the hotel even froze haha.

But wow, lemme tell you, being 12 and even sitting behind a parent SUCKS(no heat for your hands or feet), but once i got on my own sled it was bearable

This was taken about 7:00 am last Saturday.....We waited for it to warm up to -25 before we left the cabin to go riding. Cold, but if you dress for it it's not too bad.

I road around the WA ID border at -10 and in SW WY at -45 and it felt colder at -10 in ID. the moisture is a killer on the toes and fingers. In WY, no wind and very dry air. I go around 0 but if some else wants to go -10 is manageable.

Man do all you US guys realize that you are the only people in the world that still talk in Fahrenheit. I am in my 30's and I think in Celsius because I learned that in school 25 years ago. Miles and Fahrenheit good god how archaic.

By the way anything under -20c is too cold to ride for me........

last year i went riding at -37 C without wind chill factored in, got some frost bite though but wasnt to bad. But when i was filling my sled up with oil at the base of the hill the oil was barely coming out of the jug lol.

Uhhmm, no. Coldest I've been out riding is about -40*F, was damn cold, plus the windchill factor as we have that out here too. That interior temps are colder, but we have humidity and usually a cold north wind.
I usually don't ride when I hear a clanky-clank-clank when I walk out in the morning(that's when my nuts freeze up :face-icon-small-fro ). :D

clanky-clank-clank is perfect riding weather! In Alberta, we turn around and go back inside the house if the clanky-clank-clank stops half way out to the sled, cause you know that they just froze together.
