How are the New 800 Motors Holding Up???

Hey guys,

My 07 Ski-Doo finally blew last week in IP and I had the pleasure of renting a new 800 RMK for the week. What a fabulous sled, and that's from someone who has been anti-Polaris since the day I was born. Anyway, I posted all my thoughts on it over in the Mountain/Deep Powder section so I'll get right to my question for you Polaris riders....

How are the new motors doing?? The rental I got had just had a new motor put in it the day before, but accoding to the place it was the only sled that has had any problems. So, anyone having any problems at all??

I liked the new Polaris so much it is in the discussion of what I am going to buy this spring. Just waiting to see what Cat is coming out with....

Thanks

Joe

1000 miles on mine, a buddy did have a rod bearing go at 650 miles but 400 miles on new motor and it runs strong.

Love mine, and that is coming from a guy with 2 Dragon 800's in his garage. No problems, you wont regret it.

840 miles on mine so far. They replaced injectors at 300 miles for a wide open throttle burbble and has run awesome eversince.

Just tripped 1900 miles yesterday and should hit 2000 today. Basiclly gas and oil.

My sled is a 144 Assault on all groomed trails. Three minor dislikes on the sled was the ski lift which was greatly improved after I moved the front suspension mount to the upper hole. The second is the ice build up on the rear which I got into the habit of kicking the build up off after I stop. The third is generaly the location of the switchs for the high beam, fuction and hand warms just the not user friendly.

Note these are really minor dislikes other than that the sled is very nice and reliable.

Mine has 560 miles and has had no issues at all, it runs perfect every ride no matter the snow conditions. My riding partner has 450 on his and only problem is the primary spring broke at 300 miles, other than that gas and go. We both came off dragons that never ran correct from day one, we didnt have the engine failures just fuel mapping problems. Long story short, I would recommend this sled to anyone, it is by far the best sled out of the box and the funnest to ride(my opinion of course).

750 miles, has ran flawless since day one, spot on and the sled is more fun to ride every time out. Zero issues, no bogs or hesitations, just pure riding enjoyment.

600 miles. Zero issues. Not discounting those who have had them. Mine was built in Oct, I went through it thoroughly, wires, oil lines, TPS, clutches, etc., before riding. So far, delivers as expected, easiest to ride stock sled I've ridden so far.

211 miles, rod bearing on Assault 144'', nine days to get parts to build a new motor, Long blocks were weeks out on back order.

Any idea if the rod bearing was an oiler failure? If so, other bearings could have been close to toast, of course.

waiting to ride

My bro and I both have about 450 mi. mtns zero probs my other bro has been sick he only has 200 would't start once changed plugs ripped all day may be Tps hasn't happened again. :face-icon-small-hap
