How are the Boondocker turbos running?

Now that the 3D program has been out how are the pros with Boondocker turbos running? How much boost and what gas are you using? Det sensor? Pretty pull and go? Or lots of tinkering still

No det on mine after 3d mapping. Fueling is good now too. I just threw heavier weights at it and should have a clutch setup today. Using 50% av gas and non eth fuel. 8.5# and hoping for more with new clutch setup.

BD turboes

Two weekends ago we were riding with a group of seven guy's that all had BD PG turbo kits. They all ran flawless. There was one pro with the new BD kit. It ran great right out of the box. Bolt it on, plug it in and ride. Zero tuning. He was only running 8 - 10 psi boost. If you turn up the boost to 12 - 14 he said then you have to turn on the two auxiliary injectors in the air box. Nice looking kit. There is an intercooler coming for that pro kit but not ready yet.

Mine was turn key today in 5' over the hood fresh. Only problems so far are the boondocker weights were way too light, I'm running 4 grams over what they sent me at 7-10k elev.
After a $100 set of weights I'm dialed.

mine ran great untill the end of today think that i took the reeds out of the pto side was pulling a hill at about 8 pounds need a bit extra so pushed the button for an extra two pounds heard a pop and then it ran like a** checked everything over all looked good but was runnning on one cylinder untill you got it moving and then the pto would start building heat. would still build boost wot but when you let off pto would cool way off and sled would run like a** again. I was able to ride it out. Plugs look good and still has good compresion so I will be tearing it apart this week to see whats up. If you have any imput let me know Thanks Rodger

Whats causing all of these to break reeds?

I have been running 12-14psi all season with over 1000 miles and havent had any reed failures.

i think that its due to high of charge temps we need a intercooler thanks Rodger

on my bd i have gone through three set of reed on my pro with a 1000 miles now. and im tired of changing them. i dont no why it is doing it.

We need an intercooler bad.. The sled runs crazy strong when you take the side panel off.
I really didn't see much change with the timing box.
Any one else see improvements with the timing box?
I did try the box on a stock sled and that's not going to work.

Im not running an intercooler and have ran over 15psi.

correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't your kit have extra injectors that inject fuel before the reeds through your billet throttle body boot? if this is the case than that would make your setup a "lubricated reed set up" which lowers charge temps at the reeds and allows for much longer life of abuse. where the BD set up does not have this at all.

ding ding ding we have a winner why couldn't i have thought of that. Now we need intercooler with the third injector turned on and i bet reed problems go away.

Yup need that intercooler. Charge temps of 187 deg on just short pulls and good ground speed at 8.5 lbs of boost. Another thing that I noticed is that if I stop for a few minutes then go again the factory temp snsor gets heated up from underhood air. So when I go the sled wants to run lean for a few minutes until air movement cools it off. Takes my 02 readings from 12.0 to 14.0 at WOT.

How is the fuel going to be distributed equally between each cylinder with only one extra injector?

I tried that one time and it was a ticking time bomb, glad I had egt's so I could watch the one side get hot.

Spend the money and get two injectors. Stop going the cheap and easy route.

I use to have a banshee that we put on the trinity racing cv intake kit which got rid of two carbs and went to only one carb for both cylinders. It actually helped in syncing both cylinders to each other. It ran awesome and gave it more power so I don't doubt that the theory one injector will work or can work.
