They stopped teaching this concept in schools 30 years ago. Most of the millennial generation have no idea how the world works, they were taught that they were special and that they could do anything they wanted. That's the problem, no one taught them the part about "working" to get what you wanted. Now we have this new wave of people feeling they are owed everything because they've been told their entire lives how special they are.
I've been doing what I do for going on 14 years now, and I feel like I got lucky to be this far this fast. I started at the very bottom for minimum wage and worked my way up. I have had guys work for me in the past that after 6 months thought they should run the company and I should just let them have it. That's no joke, that's what the new generation is like, gimme gimme gimme.
SRM, you might be a good guy, no one here really knows, but the way you "speak" online makes you sound exactly like what I just described. Right or wrong, people older than you (If you really are 23) control the world around you and they are not going to give you the reins or make any changes just because you say they should. If you want to make a difference, show some respect to those that run the show, join the club, then make changes all you want. Though I must warn you, if you hold your tongue, work hard, and make it to the position where you can help fix the problems you see with society, you might just find out that what you think is wrong is not and that the real problems come when people have the attitude you are portraying online.
Maybe some day you will be a regional manager for verizon laughing at the 23 year old sales goobers you hired that have an answer for every problem in the world, except why they can't just shut up and do their job.
