honest opinions WE shocks

After reading this thread just now I went to fabraft's site and it looks like it will cost somewhere between $140 and $200 per shock to add their reservoirs. I too have the WE's but mine are rebuildable and after getting some questions answered in another thread I started yesterday, I stumbled upon this one and got even more questions answered. I have been very happy with the shocks so far but will for sure have them worked over after the season instead of just new shocks.

Several Questions though----

For those of you who have added the fabcraft resevoirs...do they fit in the front shock well with out having to modify your plastics?

How do I get the front track shock out?

Thanks,

Austin

front track shock

I find it is easier to pull the whole rear skid out to get the front track, or both
skid shocks, out for that matter. It is not hard, but takes a while to get the 4bolts out by yourself. Most shops will pull them and recharge them for around $50 a shock.

I am just wanting to move my front shock to the lay down position. How hard is it and what is involved in pulling the skid?

I have a 700 dragon with fox zero pros and a 08 800 163 with stock WE shockes. And they work great for what they do. But the zero pros do better in the bumps and jumps. So it realy comes down to money and style of riding.

shock

You can roll your front track shock to lower position without pulling the skid out. It is a tight fit in there.

got the walkers stock on my 07 d7 blew them out every 500 miles until i had them revalved and set to my weight with matching springs front and back for my weight now 1200 miles and they feel great still ,im 300# so everything was set way to light from factory

If I were to run the WE's I'd get the coilovers with reservoirs, remote or piggybacks on the front end, clicker piggyback rear and standard front arm. Rebuilt properly they work very well, just like the older Pro-X's did.
Having ran Zero Pro's as well, I'd say they are better even without reservoirs.

If you want air shocks then Fox Floats, 2's or the more expensive ones are ahead of the WE's.
