Honest Opinion on Pipe?

I need some honest opinions on what pipe to go with. If I install an aftermarket pipe, am I going to sacrifice reliability? I can get a new SLP pipe for my 2006 RMK 900 for a great deal, but the modification to the ecu scares me. Should I be scared? I want the extra ponies just to want to sacrifice my motor which has been reliable so far.

cpi or dynoport. niether require a CPU reflash. both make more power over the entire RPM range and do not spin your engine faster.

i have watched a friend run the dynoport on his 900 with zero problems, no reflash or mods needed

The problem with spinning your engine faster is that the forces on you crank if your clutch is not perfectly balanced increase exponentially as RPM increases. The stock 05 crank will last a long time but if you put an SLP on it they snap all the time. If you are going to run the SLP than it should be considered mandatory to check your crank runnout before and if it is out of spec replace your crank. It should also be considered mandatory to send your clutch to IndyDan and have it completely gone through and professionally balanced first so you don't damage your crank from the additional forces you will be subjecting it to.

Checking crank runout is important. I always tru and weld my cranks when I have them out. My T975 stock crank with tripple pto bearings and the thrust ringed bearing moved to the pto end of crank. I've been spinning mine 7800 for years.
