Homemade can

jw how u think it costs more to make one then buy one?

Since you a lot younger then I am, you may have a different take on it then I do, also income level could play an factor. However, my free time is priceless to me, I love to goof around with my sled, but I also love to ski, and hang out with my family and friends.

If you are going to buy the metal and fabricate a can from the ground up it is going to cost you more in time and metal then to just buy one. The people who make these things aren't paying retail for metal and have it down to a science, they know what works as far as flow and back pressure in the exhaust system, it is their job, and how they make a living.

Now if you are just going to grab a part from a car exhaust and modify it a little then it could be cost effective, but will it effect the way your sled runs.
Tinkering is how you learn, but for my time and money, I would just buy one from people who do it for living and spend the time I would have taken to build it hanging with my family. Just two different ways of looking at things.
