Homemade balloon got loose with 6 year old on board

Looks like it's coming down soon! Hope the landing isn't too rough on the kid.

Thing looks like a flying saucer. Just crossed over I-76 about 30 miles from origin in Ft Collins.

Hope it don't catch a powerline or tree!

Was up around 8500', but now down to about 500' off the ground. News is going to blackout the landing in case it's bad.

Hope it all goes well and just turns into a great story for the kid.

sounds like a basket was attached to the bottom, but fell off before the news started the story.

They've searched the home & surrounding area to be sure he's not there. It doesn't sound as if there was a basket attached to the bottom, or the parents would have noticed the difference earlier on when they saw a picture.

It was said the door to the compartment was made out of cardboard, not sure, but it sounds like the boy must have fallen out, how horrible.

What a shame, I hope they're wrong.

Holy ****, I just saw this family on TV last night, they were on wife swap, the other family kept hounding them about safety, and how they take too much risk with their kids. WOW, this is going to be horrible for them, they're going to be destroyed by the media.

Based on the dimentions of the balloon, the experts are now saying there may not have been enough lift to even carry him.

From what I saw, it wouldn't be too out of charachter for the kkid to be hiding in the neighbor's bushes or something.
