Home Theater Questions

Just got a 42" flat screen and am looking at home theater systems. Who's got a wireless system and how do you like it? Product rec's? Don't want to run wires all through the house. Was looking at the SONY DAVHDX279W.
Thanks!

I believe you still have to plug something into an AC outlet..(speakers_) .Check it out, I looked at these about a year ago...G/F just put a Sharp 37D64U in her bedroom...Sweet tv!

I got a wireless and new tv in November and really love it. Been wanting wireless for a while.

Front speakers, center, and sub all wire as usual.
Rear has a controller/amp that plugs into the wall and the two rear speaker plug into the controller/amp.

Works perfectly for me since the wire from one side speaker just runs under the couch.

Recap... rear speaker have wires, but they don't run to the front, just to a small box/amp that sits on the floor by the rear speakers .

The speaker sound great (they are same speakers as the front) and plenty of power.

Good luck

My surround is a Samsung.

I went with wired rear speakers but ran the wire up through the wall and across the attic. Speakers are flush mounted in the ceiling. It sounds awesome.

I was toying with that idea or installing speaker outlets in the ceiling.

Yo Chubby-watched it for 20 seconds or so but it was background noise for the next hr:D

Most wireless systems are inferior in sound quality etc. That said get whatever sounds good to you, has the options you want and the price is right.

I wanted a wireless sytem for same reasons, not wanting to to run wires. Found that they all sucked compared to speakers you have wired up so I went the traditional way and got creative with my wiring (& hiding of).

Carguy, was assuming the sound would be inferior. Sounds like I should just quit whining, get the fish tape and get to work. First, I'll start with a cold one:beer;:D Proper planning is key~LOL!
