Hip Impingement

good luck Ive got a new acl/pcl and broken tib/fib platoe and that was in 05. Had two clean up surgeries after that. Had a shot in Aug and it worked wonders till about now. I guess now I am 50 I can get a knee, to many years of climbing and skiing has done me in. I feel your pain,pt for 6 months twice to work out bugs. Damn dirt bikes cause more problems!

Thanks for the update...good luck with PT. Those guys really know what they are doing....and at least the condition isn't worse than originally thought!

I'm hoping it works, but I have some reservations.

Still 6 weeks of PT and then being free to ride and ski all summer versus 6 weeks of PT that fails, then another month to get the MRI and doc consults again, leading to surgery which is 6 months with no bike or ski....I asked so I can be motivated with this PT stuff. Though he said with young males the surgery is very very effective if I do end up needing it.

Course the bastages took my hip through range of motion stuff 3 times. It felt decent when I walked in, and now it is hurting like a SOB, those dirty bums!!!!

Yeah. That gamble is the most common complaint in the field of ortho. But really, if the PT works, you will be a thousand times over grateful for not having to be sliced and diced. Might I add though, that come time, the guys at the WFMC will do a dandy job. And yes, the idea of operating on a young male that will actually heal is very enticing compared with the old prunes a lot of those guys make a living putting back together...:face-icon-small-coo

Update. Worked with the ortho guy last week and asked him how often PT works.

One patient is all he has had avoid surgery.:face-icon-small-fro

Still have two weeks of PT to go but the doc will be gone then so I have my MRI this Friday and meet with him next Tuesday. If it is tore then I guess I know if I need to finish out the PT.
