could a guy over bore the cylinders and go with a cast sleeve for more cc's then boost and spray? maybe a little head work hot cams if they make them? your taking out the reliability but sounds like hartle doesnt care about that. just HHHHPPPP's!!!!!

There isn't much room to over bore the cylinders on these engines. The cylinders are only 7 mm apart... Depends how brave you are, but you could probably bore them over by a 1 or 1.5 mm... I think I looked into it, and the furthest you can physically go is to about 540 cc...

I don't think you'll get much out of the heads, but you could probably get a little out of some cams, but I haven't looked at them too closely...

I spent ALOT of time messing with that motor, I had mine up to 186hp on the dyno at 16psi with 100ll and a headshim. You NEED at least 22" of primary tube lenght on the header or it will burn down, I ran a 2860 on mine as anything smaller choked up the exhaust side of things way too much, it doesnt need that much compressor but it NEEDS the exhaust side Due to the fact it is an Odd Fire engine, and there is over 300 degrees of duration on those cams! Open up the valve clearance to 10 and 12 thou in/ex.
In the end I ended up taking a 2860 and putting that turbine wheel and shaft into a 2554 to make a real 2854. That header you have will fall off in the first couple hundred miles from too much heat there is too much overlap on the cams and spreading them out only looses power. I have pictures of mine somewhere with the turbine and header almost transparent just driving down the trail! Move the turbo to a sidemount with individual exhaust tubes to the turbo and it will rock! I think that is an awesome project as I still have my phazer motor kicking around, which has been resleeved after it went down a couple of times from having too short of a header on it and hot siezing it one too many times! I have though alot about stuffing it into a skidoo xp chassis so I could have a lightweight sled, 16" track and 185hp and putting it on propane! good luck with the project, I would love to check it out if you are ever up this way.
