Alright, so cat has a 4 stroke sled with a stock turbo. Doo puts out a 174" track with 3" paddles. Point them both at the same really steep hill with lots of powder on it - which one goes higher?

I'm sure nobody has had the opportunity to actually do this yet since the Doo is brand new, but I want to throw it out there just in case any of you do get this opportunity, know that we all want to get reports back. And if you're a well known homer of either brand, well, then we will know that you're full of it.

well the A/C turbo 4 stroke

weighs about 120 LBS. more and has about 20 more HP. I would think the T3 would outclimb the heavy beast and i'm a CAT guy.

At what altitude ? Get up over 7 or 8000 ft and your the 20 HP difference starts getting way further apart.

As a doo rider, yes Shelby, it is. haha

Stupid thumbs up problem is still happening, tried to click thumbs up for Jay & Shelby's posts, but I'm guessing it went through as thumbs down..Come on Christopher, fix that glitch! Sorry for the negative reps guys (if that's what happened).

How to Make a Ski Doo Bus Out of Cardboard.. Craft a school bus from Artic Cat crate and using yellow paper.

If you have old snow check crate lying around and you want a better, more eco-friendly use for it than sending it to the landfill, try making a Ski Doo school bus. Construct the body of your three-dimensional bus using an old tissue box or shoebox. After that you can add wheels, track of choice and engine components.
Short Track model shown above with experienced rider. If unfamiliar with skills necessary to maintain and operate please consult nearest French Canadian.

any factory turbo will smoke any stock n/a sled in the mountains I don't care how long of track it has you can't make up for the loss in power at altitude .

I set up aside Turbo Apex and got him by one sled length with 880 -156x3 in. apex had a 162x2.5.@ 10K , the weight kills, all depends on sno conditions. with set sno the Turbo track speed will always win every time, when snow gets deep the big paddles keeps on going.you doo need to have a good skid and power along with finely tuned and clutched.Apex was sold shortly after. The big paddle has slower track speed but keeps pulling, the Apex spun into a deep trench., The 3 inch is a game changer and the conditions will continue to determine the winner.

I'm not a cat or Yamaha fan but the turbo sled will always win the weight is a penalty but you can't make up for the almost 50 percent horse power edge the turbo sled has at altitude . at sea level you may be right , snow conditions won't mater either imho

you obviously dont have a 3 inch. Its all about snow conditions and thats where even the slower track speed big paddle shines, In set snow the 3 inch will be much slower trying to spin all the paddle. There is no one setup take all.
