High boost# with pump gas @low altitude?

Is any one but me trying to make a pro rmk turbo run fine with pump gas at low altitude? I have got mine running low numbers now but will start raising the boost this weekend. I'm running a silber turbo with power addiction heads.
 
why would you buy a new sled and turbo and try to push you limits with pump gas. My sled has a little motor mods and I try to run avgas as much as possible. Pump fuel these days is terrible! I know if I was running a turbo my sled would only see pump fuel if it was mixed with av or race fuel.
 
High boost and low elevation is scary but it depends on how high. Some guys figure that 10 lbs is high. I figure 15 is high and 10 is good but I wouldn't even try it without an intercooler.
 
which power addiction head? the low comp one i hope. with the lower compression head the need for race fuel does go down some. what is your elevation?
 
There is a simple answer to your question about why, in sweden race fuel is like 28usd/galon. And is hard to get by, also 100ll.

I'm running 11,1 heads, and on a 600rr we have run 13-15psi with the same compression. But on this one I'm aiming for 9psi. That should be more than enough to get a kick from it!:) I mostly run at 1000-1500ft.

So thats the reason for this thread, to may get some input from anyone that have tried. In worst case i will make some new domes with even lower comp.
 
Why is that? Not even with low comp heads? 0n 10,5 heads people have bin running 15+psi on pump here in sweden, and we are all running at low alt compared to you guys! :) But then you loose some snappyness in the bottom end, thats why i want to push it on the 11,1heads.
 
The pro has lower ports. It tends to bleed of less pressure at lower rpm. Great for more bottom end but it also raises the dynamic compression ratio of the engine. This pushes it closer to deto on the same static compression ratio. If your winter humidity level is higher than it is here than you can get away with more boost also. I have seen a big change in humidity make a 1000 ft difference in density altitude readings.
 
Also remember that 9lbs at 1500 FT is like running around 13lbs at high elevations. I think a SAFE number would be 6 or 7 lbs
 
Today I ran 8psi at premium with no problems exept over rev, need to add a little weight and take another go at it! But I tell U that it pulls hard at 8psi and a slight higher gearing! :)

Jo det gick hur bra som helst. Fungerade kalas när jag arbetat fram en MAP som fungerade på vår bränsle och med mina motormods. Den går faktiskt otroligt bra, mer än nöjd! Men nu är den såld tyvärr.
 
okay okay, så vad mer hade du moddat? när vi var över å körde med burandt i vinter så körde dom stock motorer. och dom sa att det funkar bra.

Visst.. om du vill tanka race för 44:- litern.. och ändå behöva åka låga ladd. Jag har egen topp och iom det har jag fått göra en egen map. Men den levererar bra mycket mer hp än de andra pro turbona i sverige just nu.

98ron (europe) are the same as 94pon (us).
 
well that will definitely help you with higher boost numbers. 94 is substantially higher then what most can get in the US. hell, i can only get 90, and it is fairly crappy 90 at that.
