Hi-temp silicone on exhaust springs

Curious, I see on page 52 in the newest Snowest publication they are showing the Hot Pot. Included in the photo I also see some hi-temp silicone applied to the exhaust springs. What would be the benefit of this application ? I sure like the way it seals exhaust fittings.

Silicone + Springs

Works well for me too .

it also helps slow the wear to the spring and points the springs oar hooked to by dampening the vibrations , if connect the spring and the pipe with a dab or orange RTV the pipe hooks points almost dont wear.
