it always seems that just when we walk out of a store you meet some dink takin one last drag as they are walkin ...don't even stop to put it out just flick it to the ground sometimes its like 2 inches long still then I gotta walk over stomp it so I don't smell it or one of the kids ...pizzes me off

You were given "red reps" for this thread.........there are some people that need to get a life and quit being cowards. If you are going to "red rep", someone at least man up and say your name.

Anyway, yeah it is a pet peeve of mine as well. I used to smoke, and would always dispose of my cigarette butt properly after I was finished. It was a pet peeve of mine. Smokers have a bad enough name anyway in this liberal world......littering doesn't help their case.

I don't smoke, but it doesn't bother me to see butts on the ground.

Can anyone tell us how long it takes for them to degrade?

On a side note, I toss my used kleenex out the window when not in town.
I know these degrade very quickly, and with my allergies I would have the back seat full of used snot rags if I didn't ditch them.

Is it wrong to spit on the ground? Lunger? Chaw? Seeds?

You are still littering! I feel bad for those people that clean the section of road that you drive on. How would you feel if every time I passed your place I threw out my snot filled Kleenex? I don't think you would be too happy. You are throwing your trash on someone elses propety. RESPECT others man. Seriously.

If it doesn't take that long to degrade then why don't you just throw them out in your own yard and not someone else's?
