99 machz...the one Ive been asphalt racing the last few years has a problem.
Ive moved and dont as of yet have a shop, the sled sat outside all winter (covered). I pulled the sled out today and started it up. It fired right up and idled as usual. After letting the sled warm a bit I blipped the throttle a bit and found the sled wont rev over 3000 rpm. This is an electrical issue I expect as it sounds exactly like it did when I had a starting line rev limiter in it. I can try n sneak up on the RPM at part throttle or whack it wide open and the result is the same, hits round 3000 rpm and quits reving. I did remove the stock hood and swap it for a lexan one. Simply unplugged the wire harness...I dont think this would effect anything as Ive ran it this way before; I did put the stock hood on and plug in the harness...didnt make a difference.
Any thoughts?
