Help with odd running sled

I'd agree with JDW1. Check your exhaust valve hoses, fittings and silenoid. Do you have any black oil residue on your engine that wasn't there before? If you do it's a good indication something's going on with valves loosing vacuum.
Also 8400? On max RPM is a little high. 8150 on a hard pull is what we shoot for and 8250 on groomed trail.

One thing to be clear on, there is no vacuum on this system, it works on cylinder pressure, this is how it works,
Engine idol and up to 6800 to 7000 the PCM requires the exhaust valves to be closed, the solenoid has power and the solenoid valve is open exhausting cylinder pressure to atmosphere,
At around 6800 to 7000 the PCM wants the exhaust valves to open, PCM cuts power to the solenoid, it closes holding the cylinder pressure back to the bellows, they fill with pressure and open the exhaust valves, this all happens very quick, the solenoid is spring loaded to close, when the sled is not running and no power is applyed the solenoid, the valve is closed by default by spring pressure in the solenoid. This way the internal engine parts are not open to the atmosphere.

I hope this is clear, I had to read the explanation in the repair manual 3 or 4 times to fully understand how it works. Not at all how I thought it worked before reading up on it.

Sorry this got so long winded!
