Help with new sled

Hey Guys, Great forum you have here. I am thinking of buying another sled and need some help. I have a 06 switchback 600 now which does great on the trails and in some powder, but want to just upgrade. I am thinking of buying a RMK 800 155. The plan is to get a different track, so I dont wear down my lugs when I'm on the trails here at home. Now when I go out west, I can just switch tracks and go. What do you guys think? How will it handle on the trails with a 1.25 track? Any info would be great. Thanks!!

I bought an 09 800 Dragon 155 this year. It work great out here in the Teton's but if you were to trail ride it alot, I would get the optional wheel kit. There are only two wheels (the ones in the back) on the whole skid frame for the Dragon, but they do come stock with ice scratchers.

I ride a little trail to get to the mountains and one time when I was riding with ice scratchers down I could smell a little hifax. Other than that I love the new dragons. nice power for an 800 and handles really well. I'm am very happy with my choice.

I'd just put the wheel kit on and run it. Or, have you thought about the Assualt? It has a stiffer track on it and would probably be perfect for what you're wanting IMO.

have you switched a track before? To much work for me to consider that. I just switched the jets and clutching and screw the track and all the time changing it. change it when its bad in 2 yrs and not have the time,$, and store another track.

personally, i'd change tracks. i don't know what all is involved in a polaris track but i changed out mine on my ski-doo the other night, alone, in 2 hours. midwest trails are hard on tracks & tracks are hard on check books. for the $1.50 you'll have in oil and $5.00 in beer, I'd change the track out.
