Help!!!! Recoil problems

Hey guys I've got an 08 adrenaline 800r that I just rebuilt and I'm having recoil problems, so the recoil works fine when it's off the sled pulls out a d goes in with no problem but when I screw it onto the sled it will engage a d turn the motor but wont retract like its stuck!!! But if I loosen the screws a little bit about 1/4 in it will retract..... it worked fine before the rebuilt so please help with suggestions on what may be wrong or what I'm overlooking

Did you replace the crankshaft? If so, The 09+ shaft had a different mag.

try replacing the cup at he end of the crank that engages the starter
