hey guys so my oil pump broke, it was a gear driven one, plastic gears, and a gear cracked and the motor spun its self in the gear and jammed it outward, fun, so WHAT will work? and where can i find it? chevy Lift pumps?

i had got a plastic kind of "diesel" lift pump that did not do that clack sound, thought maybe it was gear driven, but it didnt move no oil, hell the damn thing wouldnt move water, WTF!

So i was hoping to get out and test ride my turbo project, but yeah no oil pump.... so is there and quick fixes that will work? i only running 5 pounds boost if that, so i know i dont need a huge ammount of oil flow,

so where can i go to find one? like anything at a automotive store that will work??? thanks

your local NAPA should stock a Facet/Purolator POSI-FLO pump that will work. there are a couple models i have used. facet number 60106 good for 32 gallons per hour and about 6 lbs. 60107 good for 40 gallons per hour and about 8 lbs.

Thanks, i was thinkign its a piece of crap pump? the Rt1k comes stock with some sort of facet posiflow pump, that everybody says is crap and to replace it because its low flow??? or something, but if you say it should work i can give it a whirl, the 1 that comes with my sled could just be a old cheap crappy model or something, for massp roduction, not sure

Have you personally used one to pump some oil????

Yea the pump on the Rt is the lame fix BRP came up with when they found out the sled would run out of gas at half a tank and in a climb.

They were located under the motor is why they were crap to change, if they went bad
They are a carburator fuel pump Low psi for that reason. It should pump oil.

Good luck on your test run...

bah, i guess napa is closed today so it will happen next weekend it looks like, but even then i wonder,

Does anybody know of any For sure good pump to work that will work to order off the net here?

This guy says that he has used two of the models......not just referring to them, he has used them.

umm... yeah. guess you missed my post that I have ben runing one on my turbo xp for the last two years. and that I said shucks/oriely sells the same one with a different label on it. I am sure they are open on a sunday.
as long as it is a ball bearing turbo it des not need hardly any oil. the facet pump works fine. I would not use the facet pump with a plain bearing turbo. plain bearing turbos need around 40psi of oil preasure.

i had used the old ****ty facet pump off my sled, which is ****ty, and i seen the facet pump at napa and was debating it but i was thinking, well, it might be just as ****ty as my other facet, but im going to say my facet is the cheapest pump ski doo could find, its also like 6 years old, so i guess time would give them to make Much better pumps,

so, you say youve used a facet for past 2 years on your turbo, thats all i need to know, that tells me the facet should work and will pump oil,

the other pump i tried was some plastic cheaper, "diesel lift pump" but its a joke, it wouldnt even pump water, let alone pump the oil, so i took it back

well, i went down to napa, and just to see, i guess i ended up ordering, but i will see if i like it or not, but a Facet Cube fuel pump, supposed to be some sorta solid state thing, guy said its 7-10 PSI rating??? and 50GPH, its supposed to be able to handle heat and temps better, and its metal housing not plastic,

im thinking the higher GPH should also help it in moving the oil better?, i know oil will make it work a bit harder so i figure a stronger motor that moves the fuel more, should be stronger for oil????

and brycter, thanks ill keep that in mind!, ill probably end up getting a real one soon, but i want to just get going asap
