HELP! Decision time. What sled to buy?!

Coming off my 04 Summit 800.... my Dad decided to buy it so now new sled...

Ok, I am going to post this in all 3 brand forum and see what I can come up with. Please chime in with your opinions on the 3 below. All 3 are basically the same price. Please be as objective as you can and keep the "bias" out of it ahahah.... if that's possible. I don't have any history on the sleds so we'll assume they are all on engine number one for argument sake. I appreciate all the input.

08 Polaris Dragon 800, 155", 2073 miles.
07 M8, 153", 1896 miles.
06 RMK 700, 159", 1039 miles.

I know the 800 Popos have a bad rep; is it bad enough to stay away from them? This is my favourite of the 3 based on looks for sure! I don't know of anything bad about the M8 but probably bottom of the pile on looks IMO. The 700 Popo has same rep as 800 as far as I can tell. I dunno... please chime in! Much appreciated!

Well first off I have no idea why your posting this in a skidoo section with out even having a doo on the list. But if I was you do some research on the popo's and that should tell you enough to stay far away from them especially on the first motors, you will have so much bad to read about them that your head will spin LOL. Go with the m8 they are reliable and despite the looks I hear they ride real nice.:kev:

What's your price range? Why not look for a 06- 07 rev 800, they should be right there in that same price range.

The 09 Dragon 800s have some serious issues with compression to mag side, voltage regulators and ecus. I suggest you tread carefully around those. The dragon 700s are actually very trouble free comparing.

I had an M7 for a few years and is comparable to the M8. They climb and side hill with the best, including the newer sleds out there.

X2: why aren't you considering any Doos??

Cubby is right, the '06s have the same engine as your old '04 and many of them would have already had a top end freshening by now. Give it some thought, that was an awesome year.

That said, from what I've seen the Polaris 700s have been good sleds by and large. Besides, it's not even a real 700, it's a 755.

06 is my favorite rev to date. out of the choices the m8 but a price range would help, the 09 m8 is way better than the 07 and the 10-11 is even better.

Tell your dad you want your REV back and make him go buy a different sled lol. Out of those choices the M8 handles pretty well but I'd spend some money on your 04 and you would have a better sled than any of those choices.

Spend some money on a m8 and it will kill the rev mod for mod in everything but down the trail and big air.
