helmet question

Last winter i was having a heck of a time keeping my wifes kwick straps for her goggles to stay stuck to her helmet, the velcro side was fine it is the other piece of plastic, i even bought her a new set, stayed on for a few rides then off they came again, what is a good glue or something to make these stick better? Thanks for any advice. And yes i did clean off the helmet before trying to get it to stick on :face-icon-small-ton

Usually the adhesive that comes on them works if applied correctly. You said you cleaned it but what did you clean it with?

Does the helmet happen to have a matte finish?

I've had the best luck with using 3M adhesive remover as the cleaner and wipe the helmet really good. Then prior to placing the mount on the helmet, I actually use a heat gun and heat the helmet slightly and then the mount.

I cant remember what i used, but it was for removing glue and such, i was wondering if there was some sort of glue to use that would hold, sick of buying these things, i have a bunch arround here, but dont know what to use to gt them to stick. Would a marine gorilla glue or something work?

I file down the narrow part of the strap so it takes less effort to take on or off the post. I have not had a problem since.

If you're certain that you will always want to use the quick strap then scuff the area you want to stick it to with some sandpaper, both the helmet and the plastic piece and use a small amount of gorilla glue but keep cleaning the excess as it squeezes out.
I had the same problem.
The double sided tape doesn't hold as well as the older ones when it gets real cold.
It gets brittle and comes off.

The problem with that is if you end up wearing the goggles on the back side of the helmet on a sunny day and opt for just sunglasses for a while you can lose an expensive pair of goggles.
Ask me how I know that!!!:mmph:

It still takes some effort to take them off but I guess I don't ride with my goggles on the back side of my helmet only when sitting still. never thought of it that way. Thanks for the heads up I'll just take mine off and put them away.

If it still fits tight against the helmet you'll be ok, mine didn't! I never realized they came off until later and had no idea where.
