Heading to Northern Wyoming, looking for suggestions....

My friends and I are heading to the Sheridan area to ride sleds next week. I was looking for suggestions on where to stay and ride. It will be my first trip past the Black Hills coming from NW Iowa.
Typical snow conditions would be appreciated too, from all of the guys who live in the area, or visit often.
There will be 6-8 of us, with 3-4 wives. All of our sleds are 136"+.

Thanks for any info.

Well if I were you don't stay in Sheridan just drive through Sheridan and go up the mountain the first lodge you come to is Arrowhead, good place to stay, next place is Bear lodge also good place to stay and has lots of night life, past Bear another lodge I forget the name of it cause it seems to change every year but it has the cheapest rates and a new hotel with nice rooms. Anyways no matter where you stay they will treat you right the same owner has them all now. As far as the snow goes it's not as good as it has been in the past but some is better then none. LOL
If you drive through Sheridan go to Ranchester, thenget off the interstate and go through Ranchester to daton and then up the MT it's a staight through shoot. Have fun guys

lodging

Just got back from bear lodge sun 3-1. You might want to make reservations,I think they are pretty booked up on weekends. The snow was excellent and I would reccomend getting a guide at least 1 day.

Rode the sierra Madres this last weekend but headed up the Horns tomorrow (monday) to see what its like up there.

Rode the Northern Horns Friday evening and all day Saturday. A lot of the snow is tracked up. You can find meadows with less tracks though. Snow was alright.. really sugary. Had a good ride yesterday though. We found most of the good snow SouthWest from Bear Lodge. Hope this helps out a bit...

I will be there this weekend also. Question for you guys that go there a lot. Where would be the best/highest spot where you can see some good scenery. Going to be my brothers first snowmobile trip and want to show him some awesome views you can see from the mountains.
