Head locktite

Just wondering what everyone is using...i know it should be high heat and not just the blue locktite, can you tell me what you are using?

I put the blue on the head and want to change it

I would recommend clean the threads off your bolts and chase the threads in the block with a tap, blow them out with compressed air, then just use a bit of anti-seize on the bolt threads, then a little thread sealant (the white stuff) on the smooth shank part of bolt, this will give you good torque readings and won't be such a big mess next time @ dissassembly. No need for locktite on these bolts.

I agree, I've never used any kind of locktite on any head bolts. Cleaning the threads and using anti seize will turn the bolt in 1/4 - 1/2 turn farther with the same amount of torque. I would imagine the dealer only uses the blue permatex stuff on the unthreaded shank of the bold.

Anerobic Sealant! It is the absolute best at sealing in vibration/shock type environments. Think about how much vibration/shock there is going on in a sled. Since the automakers started using it, vehicles are now practically leak free,

Curt at Fastrax also uses it and endorses it. SkiDoo rec's it for engine warranty work also. Been using it for 10 plus years.

Do you happen to have a brand preference on this sealant?? Would you need any type of high temp or just regular?

Should i pull them since i only put the blue on them and then re tourque? or just check if torque is fine leave them??

Also can someone post the pattern on here again i had it...but i remember is was abit off from the pic of the head
