HD Better Boards?

So at about 245 pounds riding weight, are the HD BB's the better option on an IQ? I'm not tremendously hard on the boards as I don't jump on purpose, but strictly due to the weight.

Rob,

I have bent/broken the outer bars on my Pro assault, I bowed them down in the middles, then the casting broke by where it bolts to the footrest. Both sides. I have a couple other buddies whos Pros' running boards are bowing also.

I can assure you that if you build the better bars for the Pro you will sell plenty. Everyone's will be bending after a couple seasons even for smaller guys. I am 220 and do a lot of jumping also.

I have a buddy looking at doing a chromoly set but I would like to see yours for sale as well for the masses.

I could also sell plenty of them.

Volcano...for the IQ RAW you actually have a couple cool choices. If you do the standard boards with the Better Bars you get a stiffer quicker stiffer reacting chassis. YOU CAN 100% FEEL the difference if you actually ride aggressively and that was a nice added benefit on the stiffer and sturdier chromoly replacement bars. If you are not tearing up an IQ I'd say that should be your consideration. One set of standard Better Boards and one set of chromoly Better bars for your IQ RAW. This is a very good combo!

Now for the super hardcore the HD board and the chromoly bars is the best of the best in performance and durability at a reasonable cost. Once again if you pm me you can get a deal on this off season stuff but the time is coming to an end on this deal. We are starting our years production run to amp up for the trade show circuit in the fall plus we always have a minimum inventory group on the shelf so there is NO WAITING during the season (if at all possible).

Chad..do you or any of your customers have the HD version Better Boards on the PRO chassis? We did about 20 sets last year mostly for known jumper and hard core movie guys. It definitely improves the overall strength of the system and cut down on outer bar failures. We also have a super duty weight that we've played with..but they are too extreme.

Braaaaaaaaaaaaaap I'm glad you are happy with your sled...enjoy your season and if you ever want to go a bit further west come on out and we'll compare stock versus BETTER heads up.

question

i ran snow eliminators on my rev and was very happy with them, can someone explain what makes the BB's perform better than the eliminators?
or what makes them worth almost double the price?

is the price difference worth it for the BB's?

My opinion here. The Better Boards are mounted on the bottom of the running board and not to the side of the tunnel causing stress to an area that was not designed for it. The coating on the Better Boards helps eliminate snow adhesion, raw aluminum does not. The design of the Better Boards is always evolving to meet the needs and requirements of the customers. I've never seen a tunnel failure caused by the Better Boards but I have seen buckling on tunnel sides from other products...and you can believe it would be posted all over this site if they did cause damage. I've been using them for 4 seasons now without any issues and I'm not a light weight guy (6'3" 240lbs). I think they have helped save my tunnel/foot rests from bending. You also can't beat the customer service that Rob provides. He will give you additional installation pointers for your particular sled and backs up the product if it should fail. I've never used snow eliminators so I can't comment on them, but I do know that Better Boards do work great, well worth the price.

BRAAAAP is my dad and i have the 09 D8 with better boards. I do love the pro boards traction and they do have pretty good evacuation. However, I am beginning to see a lot of tweaks and bends in the cleats and board surface. Even if the grip of the better boards is just slightly better, I'm sure that the structural advantage would be worth it, before a whole new tunnel is needed IMO.

I took advantage of the summer special on some HD Better Boards. Great service so far, F-Bomb got back to me right away and answered all my questions. I had Snow Eliminators on my Dragon, they worked OK but the snow stuck to them and the raised cleats in the toe hold sucked. Looking forward to less snow build up next year with a tunnel wrap and Better Boards, on my new to me 2011 RMK.

Cobalt 200 we currently do not have the "switchback assault" in our line-up as a stock product offering....but we have built bunches of custom boards. The biggest issue is that we are out west and our focus is mainly mountain specific products (because I'm here and can test and build them to exacting specs). Our local network doesn't have a PRO chassis switchback on hand for me to take the measurements on so that presents a challenge. If you supply us with the specs its a done deal right to your exact specifications. Most custom jobs are add $50 on top of our standard prices of like material weights, cleat numbers, and finishes. Looks to me like the wider switchback platform boards would be similar to our Yamaha Nytro models in mass...alot depends on where the rear suspension brackets are and if we are putting board back there versus a style like the support units sold stock on that sled. So if you have any further questions feel free to shoot me a pm or email me at rob@f-bombracing.com and I'll see if we can get you all set up. Thanks

Did everyone who wanted in get taken care of on our summer special for Better Boards? Had a bunch of messages flying back and forth. Think we got the masses covered but just in case hit me again. (it's not too late quite yet) The boards are starting to roll out this week. I saw several pallets of boards lining up to the powder oven yesterday so it won't be long for those that put in their SUMMER SPECIAL orders.

Had no idea so many guys would want PRO Heavy Duty versions. We sold more in this past couple weeks then all of last year. (that is a lot of PRO boards!) Amazing and WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR BUSINESS!

100% you will love this product on the PRO...ask Me, ask Burandt, ask Heston, ask Skinner, ask Adams, ask Struthers, ask anyone who owned Better Boards on a PRO from last year...it's a great addition to this awesome sled.

Once again....THIS IS A DIRECT ONLY PROGRAM YOU MUST MESSAGE ME OR CALL ME DIRECTLY TO GET THE DEAL

OK gang they are officially rolling your way. The production crew has been very hard at work these past couple of weeks. Watch for auto emails from the shop with your tracking numbers as your box meets the system.....LET THE OFFICIAL MADNESS BEGIN

It's snowmobile time!
