Didn't go because of the royal mess last year. So was it organized better or less people attended?
 
I have been going since 93 and this was the most organized I have ever seen it!!!!! Good job to the sno baron's!!!
 
Much, much better this year. No parking fiasco like last year. The only complaint, as a vendor, would be the lack of cell towers in the area. We were using our cell phones for access to the internet for credit card transactions and both AT&T and Verizon crashed on Sat at the peak of the day. I'm sure its because there were WAY too many people all trying to use the same tower in an area that 363 other days of the year only have about 50 people on it. Small complaint, probably not even worth mentioning as the rest of the show was very well organized.

It was good to meet a lot of you guys out there. Thanks for coming in to the SnowBigDeal booth and introducing yourselves. We all had a great time. Thank you SnowBarons.

Perhaps they could look into mini tower rentals for the weekend.


I know at the Spring Creek MX National each year they seem to have a cell tower brought in. NOBODY gets service down there but if you are Verizion you do since that is the company the track brings in.

Maybe the SnoBarons could look into getting towers from ATT and Verizion as a service to their vendors so things go even smoother. As I'm sure you were not the only vendors using phones to do card transactions.

We tried, county declined the request for a better tower during the event..

"In other zoning issues, the board chose to reject the Planning Commission’s recommendation to permit Verizon Wireless to erect a temporary communications tower near the Hay Days site for improved wireless signal in the area during the snowmobile drag race event. Commissioner Rick Green offered the motion to deny the request for a CUP for the 60’ tower in Amador Township, based on the fact that Verizon had not shown that they couldn’t use an existing tower to co-locate and had not pursued co-location due to costs associated with it.
A Verizon representative at the Planning Commission meeting said the temporary tower would address the issue of service problems during Hay Days, and the company pursued this CUP (which he was surprised to have to apply for) because of complaints of “vastly inadequate signal” over the event last year.
In spite of the planning commission suggesting the Board approve the CUP, they voted it down 4-1, with Robinson continuing to be in favor of the tower."

Called and left several messages throughout the summer, and a couple days before the event as i NEEDED to know some things and NOTHING.

Is that really too much to ask for? After talking to several other vendors, they say this is normal....


Any other vendors have this issue?

I was expecting the worst and was delivered the best! VERY nice job on getting the parking situation figured out- thank you for totally exceeding my (and everyone's) expectations as far as parking goes!!

Seems there was a drastic decline in attendance this year? Wasn't nearly as busy. Does anybody have the attendance numbers?
But was an obvious increase in sunshine beaming on my face.
We got there early for a good spot but they ended up putting the Frickin portal johns right behind us! Peeeeuuuuu
