I was checking out the sled prior to going on a ride and found this.

Ive seen torn tracks before , but not like this.

Torn clean on the center section with a clean tear starting on one side.

What do you think? A hard hit on a stump or rock?

I swear you check your track more often than most of us. Surprised you didn't see anything earlier.

Had the same thing on my sled last year(08 XP800X 146), by the 2nd day it was unridable and had to be replaced. I was able to locate 1 within 50 miles of where we were staying, but it cost me full price(approx. $860). Dealer in Jackson didn't stock them, said that it was a high price ticket item. Luckily when I did my trade in, I was able to get it warranteed for 75% of what I paid, same dealer swapped out all my blown belts (4) no extra charge, that alone was worth $600.

Looks like a thick tree top poked through a window and it tore as your track was circling around the rear idler...

Happened to a friend of mine while we were in revy. it tore his whole track sideways 2/3rds of the way across. Hose clamps work well.
