Have questions on 08 Xp

I just bought an 08 Xp and went for my first ride with it last night, I use to ride an 04 Rev with a good tune up on it. Last night I found on the Xp if I gave it full throttle it went slower than if I went 1/2 or 3/4 throttle so the hole time I was trying to chase this sleds power band or sweet spot what ever you may call it, with the throttle, I know that it could have been over revvving a little and maybe lowering clickers would help a little bit. It is'nt going to salve all the problem. An help I would really apreat or even what other people are doing for clutch kits for mountain riding "not trails" sorry just had to stress that a little, on the other hand to make my rev pull the way I wanted it to, I went with a Power Quest clutch kit with my own little changes like poo seconder spring and primer spring really helped and farely soft weight setup. Thanks MadMini:)

So I'm the only guy out there with this problem?

So now one ever fills like there chaseing the powerband with the throttle on an 08 Xp and less is sometimes more with the power it delivers..

I've just lowered the clickers down to #2 everything else in the Xp's clutch is stock can I add weight to the stock arms so it will pull harder?

May have found It

So from what I read from a post Tech-Air put in I need to go change my primary spring to a Blue/Blue so I can get clickers to #3 again and add some pin weight thats so cool thats why I ride Doo!!!!:D

new question

if i thank spring and add weight wont I be over revving again and back down to #2 on the clicker please post back thanks madmini

Most likely your problem is WAY too large of main jet...

I suggest jetting down on the main jet.

It almost sounds like the exhaust valves are not opening. It would be farting and sputtering if the jets were so big. He did say that it was slower at full throttle then mid range. Thats drastic unless being exaggerated.

so what size jets should I have I've got slp high comp head, slp y-pipe,and jaws can I ride in about 6-8 and any clutch idea's please help also have 174 I like to clutch so it's right there all the time and right now it not right there I now there more in it to be had even with that track thanks madmini:confused:

should I change helix to pull more track speed with that track I only weight 150maybe 160 after rideing please help relay wont to put the stomp on friends poo who is a "Doo" hater

check for rave valve leaks. The hose come loose at the crank and the other connections, this will give you inconsistent powerand not always rpms.

just checked everthing looks good and tight really checked it good but jet might be a little rich not much still what about clutches and helix and that stuff any idea's!!!

see's got 480 main jets and I'm going to put flow rites in to len it out just a little and I think it's in the clutchs I've checked everything out please give some input onit I'm pulling hair real would like to now about helix and spring thinking of primery blue/blue and more weight thanks madmini:confused:

Sluggo

Check with your local dealer to see if raves are not functioning they can check for codes that won't always turn your light on, then check fuel as per Kelsey, plugs checks, then do the clutching thing, if motor is off clutching will do nothing or make it worse

cleaning cleaning cleaning

just got done cleaning the rave vavles on it and they were a little dirty not that bad I'm still wondering about helix angle with big track and mybe a little avise on weighting here's all the ski-doo gear heads when you need them there's not that much snow yet. thanks madmini

ditto, there is a service bulletin out on faulty rave solenoids.

what gear's are you running, with 174 you might need to lower gear's. i have an 08 xp it will do the same on the trail it over rev's but on the hill it's ok .do the secondary spring .
