Have a Question that maybe someone can answer

Ok, maybe this is a stupid question, maybe my eyes are decieving me, or what ever else. But as i look at my snowmobile skis the other evening, i notice that the right side ski is farther ahead than the left ski. Now i get to looking more at everything thinking that something has to be bent but i can find nothing that looks bent but the only thing i can find different is that the aluminum riser from the ski is at a little different angle on the right side compared to the left side. Is this normal? I wouldnt think so but like i said earlier that i cant find anything that is bent.

Look underneath, also look behind the silencer....likely the "nun" as it's called is bent.
I will look there, ive been looking all morning since its raining so hard i cant get out and do anything else, and i seriously cant find anything its got me stumped. Its not on either of the arms, upper or lower, you can put a straight edge on them and everything is true. The only thing i can remotely see is that the lower arm is sitting a little bit forward than what it should which would cause my problem but still trying to figure out why it is. Does anyone know if those aluminum risers should sit pretty much vertical or should they tip a little bit to the rear of the sled?

The arms are probably fine, roll the sled on its side and look close at the area surrounding where the arms bolt to the bulkhead....that's the weak spot.

Well i looked over all of that. Couldnt find anything! Im wondering if its bushings but when i tipped it on its side i got ahold of it and couldnt get any play out of it so i dont think its that. guess im going to have to go to see the professionals. Thanks for the help!

Hello

You might have to take the front plastics off and the exhaust pipe off to look around, the nun can be bent but in areas not easily seen, my right ski set back a touch more than the left, the one area I noticed this is cause the shock spring doesn`t set as centered in the middle of the top control arm than the left, the front of the right shock spring is close to touchin the inside of the control arm and on the left there is about 3/8 inch gap between the two, I also couldn`t see anything but at least on mine I noticed a tweek in the side of the bulkhead as I changing the exhaust can, I hammered it back straight but I know when I take the front plastics off I`ll definetely find more to my surprise,

I bet you will notice more too.

the aluminum pieces coming up from the skis is the Spindle.. and the top of the spindle should be setting at a bit of a back angle, the top back farther than the bottom this is the caster angle in the front suspension.

Good Luck, Wildcard

Pray its not the "flying nun" because if it is :face-icon-small-con.......its gonna take time and cost a heavy dime.....to fix that is

Nun is bent most likely. Look at the lower rear mounting points on the a-arms. the mounting angle on the front plate will bend on even a light hit. You can see it for sure if the long rear mounting bolt for the a-arms is touching or has punched the front pan. I put a new front pan and 440x nun in my 07 summit x this fall and it cost me about $400 plus for parts and a good day in the shop. I have pictures of some of my replacement if anyone would like them posted.

Im sorry to have to tell you, But your sled is a total loss. Big pile of poop now! I would get rid of it ASAP! P.M me for my adress and I would gladly dispose of it for you! Thanks ;-)

Ok its an 06" summit 600HO Adrenaline with a 144" track. All the plastic fits perfect, A arms dont hardly have any paint off of them, not hardly a scratch on the sled at all. Sad thing is, and its my own fault, but i just bought this sled and i never noticed it. But ive got all summer to get it fixed, so im not too worried about it, just makes me mad that i didnt notice it. But anyway, thanks for the info guys ill give it all a look see and go from there. Like you guys said there is something bent and ill find it eventually, i was hoping for an easy fix( you know the ones that are supposed to take 15 minutes to fix) but its looking like its going to take a few hours. Just got to find some time to get too it.
