Mine is still broken (waiting parts since the end of March) Letter to BRP no response... thinking of hiring a lawyer and then ruining a great relationship that I had with a local dealer and of course.. BRP

i don't no if this helps at all but I work at a ski doo dealership and most xp parts are on backorder from brp untill mid november

wtf they can make parts to sell new sleds but can't make parts to fix sleds that they have sold already.

My frustration with doo has kept me off them and on cats since my 01 summit 800. Lost a crank the first week of April and couldnt get a short block from doo to fix it until november. I feel your pain, but from my experience all you can do is bend over and take it. I had an exceptional dealer too.

What parts you need?

To be honest with you when I ordered my new 09 I really wanted to get an XP but these type of problems kept me away. Bought a new 09 M8 instead because of better reliability.

What exactly is wrong with it? I had my DPM and Knock sensor go bad on mine last Spring. The knock sensor came in right away but the DPM was on back order until August. It's fixed and waiting for snow.

I had a problem with a crappy polaris dealer..the more they worked on the machine the worse it ran and the more it acted up(old indy efi 500) got a lawyer and sued both the dealer and polaris..they both kept sayin it wasnt anything to do with them..turns out a coolant hose had a pinhole leak they couldnt find after 5-6 trips in and it was leaking antifreeze right on the main wire harness conector causing cross feeds on the harness....I ended up with the court siding with me..and the court ordered polaris and the dealer to give me whatever I wanted to fix it..I did the work myself..got all new wiring/ ecu and all sensors..ran perfect..get a good lawyer..have him reveiw your lemon laws and write a letter to both dealer and doo...demand it fixed..or replaced.(they should do an assembly line pull off engine from an 09)..or give you back your money...

there have been xps sitting at I-90 all summer waiting for parts, they should be all nice and sun bleached by now... this could be the new XP quote of the year "but from my experience all you can do is bend over and take it."

Parts

Thanks for the replies.. not too sure I am going to just bend over.. but I will contact the local BRP rep

I discovered early on the primary sliding half was not balanced, tried to get it fixed and BRP said no. In March the clutch let go and trashed the arms, rollers, bushings, spring, cup.. etc... These are the parts on back order.

Wonder what the crank is like?:face-icon-small-sad

you could throw money away trying to sue in my opinion, or just find a dealer that knows how to work on sleds......

They all know how to sell them, but in my experience, that doesn't help fix them

Whatever you do.... DO NOT USE REXBURG MOTORSPORTS!!!!!!

when you walk into a sled service department, it is a problem if you get the idea you have entered an oportunity workshop

I feel your pain, all of you for waiting on parts. I've been there, but honestly I think its your crappy dealers. Maybe I've just been really lucky but the dealers I've delt with both in Maine Hope it all works out for you and in Colorado were able to get my sled put back to gether in a reasonable mount of time.

If you are seriously considering hiring a lawyer you are only hurting yourself by posting it on here.

People who are serious about sueing do not threaten or talk about it, they just do it. One day you get a notice.

Sounds like they just need to give you a new clutch from an 09 and call it good instead of trying to rebuild the old one that fell apart.....what do I know though?? Call the district rep first, probably just the dealer. If district manager is no good, then escalate from there and continue escalating as required. Sometimes its good to mention that you won't be recommending Ski Doo to anyone looking to buy a new sled as well......

:) Good luck dude!
