I thought about paying, but now i am not sure. They banned AKSNOWRIDER and he even paid, WTF......
Nick, techncally I wasnt officially banned..although I do have a screen pic that says snowest banned me....my ISP address was blocked at the snowest online server which kept me from logging on..but I posted a letter in the user feedback section that explains some things....
ah, i am goiin to check it out

First- It was a joke ie: LOL
Second-This place was great before you or I or alot who left got here. So don't worry about us poor dumba$$es. We'll manage. But thanks for the concern.
I've only been registered for a couple of years so I don't know what the free-for-all that, apparently, was SW in the good ol' days.
In my relatively short time here I've gained a tremendous amount of technical knowledge that's saved me several hundred in DIY wrenching. I've actually become a better rider because of the wisdom shared by folks more experienced and talented than me. To continue to have access to that info alone is, to me, worth the price of membership dues.
I really like this forum and didn't see the big deal in paying so I saved a few bucks and got the 3 year deal. I anticipate that once the dust settles on the change, (which was executed poorly IMO) things will normalize and we'll see more threads on tech tips and go back to making fun of the other brands.
Maybe some of us will even get sponshured...

This forum has survived a lot of changes since I first joined, but it has always been free. I've seen other forums try this and fail...I fear this is going the same way, but we'll see. Till then I'll keep my money...

It was 20 the 1st two days that they flipped the switch. We all left so fast that they up'd it to 50....
I dont know about everyone else, but Im getting up to 75 posts viewing, which makes it pretty reasonable. You can read a good 80% at least of threads with numbers like that.

I just noticed that as well right now when my last post went up as #51...I guess as more and more peple flee to the backcountry, they are uping what we can see for free here. How funny.

I'm not paying for an internet forum that was free for years. I could care less about all the extra crap they added to this forum so they could then charge people for it.
The only thing good about Snowest was the forum because the magazine sucks. I guess this is a way for them to try and make money rather than just improve their magazine with better articles. This forum will eventually die out and they'll be left with nothing. There are lots of excellent, free forums out there so there is no reason to pay a subscription to one, especially when I already pay a lot of money for my internet connection.
