Has anybody attempted a ride yet this year in southeast Idaho? You can usually get a ride at Black Canyon loop pretty early. Im hoping after this storm today it should be ready to go soon!

Not yet, but I may make a road trip up to Big Springs to take a look Wednesday. The DPF needs a cleaning on the truck.

Thanks for the post! Where is that area? Im not familiar with 8 mile? Is that toward Salmon?

Had a buddy ride up in I.P. yesterday. Said it was 2' of pow but that's it. Probably nothing for base, but I'm sure it's going to set up good this early in the year.

Yeah that sounds about right. The one time I got off the trail I could feel land mines under my skis so I got back on the 2 foot covered trail. WE need to go up there one day Racer220 and ride.

Sounds like a plan. Got invited by the same group to head up this weekend, but I have other plans that need to fall through first. Will be trying to finish up the trailer and prep the sled this week in case something opens up. Still a little early to get too excited, but hey, riding is riding especially if it's before Thanksgiving.

Where's everybody parking in Island Park? Planning on going up sunday to get some miles on the wifes brand new sled. Wanna get that first tank through it as soon as possible.

Rode IP last Saturday. There was much more snow than I expected. Once we got up to about 8000' we found trails with about 4' of snow. There was no base so you could dig down to the dirt pretty easily if you're not careful.

We had a great time. I wouldn't get off the trails unless you find a nice meadow that you know is empty. Either way it's still good to get out and ride. We rode out of Big Springs.

I went up with the crew afterwork to Bone and rode to the girls camp. There was over 2 1/2 feet of fluff in places but you still had becareful. The Sherriff was up there rescuing a guy who decided to try down that road and didnt make it too far. I think after another good storm It will be good riding.
