Hart's Pass fatality

Sounds like an experienced group of riders no different than the guys I ride with.

Kinda puts things in perspective. Tragic eyeopener for me.

I'll be in the meadow for a while.

AJ

good decision making, live to ride another day.

Josh was a good buddy of mine also. I would put that kid up agianst anyone in the tree's. I never once road on a open hill side with him or the group that he rides with. This just goes to show that this can happen to anyone. rip buddy

so so sorry to hear of the loss

I located him with the beacon, we probed him, dug him up, and administered cpr....just couldnt get him to come around. Josh was 25 years old and one he!! of a rider. Don Lentz, Dale Pixlee and myself were riding the area with Josh. We had gone to go strictly tree riding. Was a really good day, we were on the way out and took one little poke at the hill.....Avy came outta the rocks and it came hard and fast. Caught Josh.

I'm still in shock so I'm sorry if this doesn't make a ton of sense. Be very careful out there guys, not one of us was a greenhorn to mountain riding and it still caught us...Be safe

We have a club ride at Lake Wenatchee this weekend with 90+ people expected... I'll be starting the safety meeting with your message above.

God Speed Josh...

Thoughts and Prayers...for Josh and the Peter's family...

God Speed Josh! See ya again someday my friend. Thoughts and prayers to your family and friends. We will surely miss ya. Norm and JJ Leslie

Didn't realize this was Josh, until today after getting the news. I had just rode with Josh, his Dad Rob, Don, DJ and Dale in Canada last month. This kid could flat ride and words cannot express how sad I feel right now. Rob, my sincere condolences are with you right now and if there's ANYTHING I can do for you, just say the word. Josh was a special kid, one for you to be proud of. I hope your heart will heal soon, cause that's what he'd want for you. For the guys involved in this ordeal, I'm truly sorry this happened. Josh, RIP bud! :rose:

i live in the area and was with a skiing buddy that got caught in an avalanche that day also, he lived, but by the skin of his teeth.
i was up at harts pass several times this past weekend and thought much about josh and his family

Very, Very sorry for your loss... Please give our respects to his family... life sure is fragile... a great reminder to be careful..!!..

Sounds like you took all the precautions you could take. Fact of the matter is this recreational sport can be unpredictable. With that said, my respects to the rider and all who have been victims of avalanches. God bless.
