i run with 2 indy 500s in our group. over 9000miles each, and the only things that ever broke were windshields ;)

They run forever. That is it. They don't handle for crap, they are heavy and gutless. Plus it costs 1000.00 for a halfway decent set of triple pipes for them.
In my opinion a MM is a great sled that handles fine with good power for a 700. And plus I have seen plenty of trip pipes for under $200. And yes they do run forever.

I had a 1979 Kawasaki Invader 440 that was super dependable too (over 10,000 miles on the original motor...never even a set of rings!) But I wouldn't want to ride one today! Let's keep this thread about non-vintage sleds!

99 Summit X 670 was the longest landing, tough as nails sled I ever owned. 15,000KM on all original engine when it left my hands pretty good Id say for a mountain sled.

yami 4 strokers. without a doubt, hell the vector is even in guiness book, some dude logged major miles on his vector. the best 2 stroke i would say is the yamaha bravo. i rode the piss out of one for 7 years WOT all day long since it was a slow sled. the sled never seen a dealer or had a tune since we had it. run it all winter, let it sit untouched all summer. fire up by 2nd pull in the fall, running on nothing but sh**ty farm fuel that was long past its shelf life.

Edit: can;t forget the the rotax 670, still one of my favorite engines.

I dunno, we had MM for work sleds and riding those things dang near destroyed me for when I got to ride my real sled on weekends. My boss never maintained them and they still ran. I started maintaining em and they ran better. I changed the gear oil and that stuff was so thick I coulda sculpted with it. But they had over 7500 miles each. As for pipes I have never seen a decent set for under 900 new.

4 stroke Yama-tanks, they seem to run forever, little maintenance, but still like humping a fat girl, its all fun until your friends find out about it or you have to get her unstuck(or off of you). I would buy Yamaha if they made a 220hp, 450lb dry, Nytro even if it did cost 15k it would be worth it.

I've ridden strictly Polaris for years, but Yamaha definitely gets the nod for the most reliable. They also get the nod for the heaviest (and heaviest handling) sleds on the market. Riding a Yamaha is like riding a fat girl - there's lots better out there, but at least you're riding !!

Can't believe no one even mentioned the Tundra II. Alaskans swear by em. Me and my riding buddies went to the cabin this weekend with the utility sleds. Had a 08 Skandic, 95 Pol Wide Trak, a POS Bearcat, and a 94 Tundra II. Tundra definetly broke trail, just too easy to carve around in the trees with those things, don't use any gas, start right up, run forever.

I see what your saying. Never maintaining them will sure affect performance and I ment USED pipes for that cheap.
