Handlebar ?????

When I ride my IQ something is just not comfortable. The other day F-bomb made a post and refered to the bars. Then a light came on in my head. I was always comfortable in my old set up on my edge chasis.

Maybe its just me too, not as much seat time, getting old, and starting to ride like a spoor.

this is the set up I currently have.. Skinz bars. I narrowed them up to match stock IQ width. I like them they are a nice product and I hate to dump them, because I have all the wires hid in the bars.

This was my Edge just as we were finishing it up. Fly bars and riser, ProX throttle block. I think this one is a inch or two short in height of were I am now.

Will switching to something like a RSI bar that matches my old Fly bars help? I have no idea what bend they were. When I ordered my tunnel and a bunch of other parts, Van Amburg got me the bars too.

I cant see how it would make that much difference, but something is just off. LIke I said it could just be me too.

Thanks.. Justin

Justin,

Handle bars are like shoes or boots... some fit you correctly, some don't...

They are as important to make comfortable as the shoes are.

With Fly, RSI, SPG, Fabcraft, Pro-taper, ROX, CR-Racing and some others out there...like the moto bars from Renthal etc. you have a lot of rise/rake/length options to choose from...

It is trial and error till you find ones that "fit" YOU best... The bummer is that you really don't know till you have them on the sled which works best... holding them in the showroom is not the same as yanking your sled around all day with those bars.

You have what looks like 8" SPG bars on the stock 5" 2007 Dragon riser... That is HUGE... How tall are you?

Good looking sled BTW!

6' 3" they hit right at my waist. maybe they need to be shorter. My wifes stocker is more comftorable to me.

I would agree that the height might be the problem. Those bars on the edge look like fly snocross bend which is what I like to run although I cut the hooks off so they are not so pronounced or so wide. Good luck

That is a lot of rise! My buddie is 6'5" and he likes a 6" rise from stock location. That just seems to be way too tall. JMO

thanks for the replies, and Eric for the phone call this afternoon.

Plan is to to run some tests on the height. After I establish that, i may do a little revamping.
