Handle bar heaters?

The YZ does not have a seperate lighting coil,
so you would probably end up robbing power from the bike.
Here is a lighting coil chart I put together some time ago:
http://www.gwrparts.com/Stator_Output_Chart.html

There are aftermarket stator alternatives though.
I remember WPS carried the Electro stators several years ago.
I think they had one for the YZ back then.

I don't know if a WR stator can be mounted up to a YZ, but I'd probably look that direction first if it's possible.

Nice thread. I've been pondering the same question.

I just ordered a 70 watt stator for my 2011 KTM 350. Hoping to power a light and hand warmers full time!??!?

I think the hand warmers are some where in the 30 watt range, so if you go with a 35 or lower watt head light and LEDs for any tail lights etc, you should be OK but pushing it.
A 30 watt H4 bulb in what ever light you put on would be cheep insurance

I've been thinking about all the things I'd like on my bike and grip heat is one of them. I had a thought about swapping out the 65W headlight bulb for one of the H4 LED replacement bulbs on Ebay. They sell for like 2 bucks and seem to draw about 9-10W or so. I have a Trailtech high output stator already so I think it should free up lots of wattage for the heaters. Thoughts?

Ok found 2 types of hand warmers,,, the ones like on a snowmobile and the ones like on street bikes, does the snow ones have enough heat to get really hot under the rubber grips? Or do I just get the ones built into the grips??wattage is not an issue!
