Hand Warmers and Foot Pegs

Any tips on the best affordable grip heaters? Would a new stator be worth the cost?

I remember seeing some footpeg add-ons that made the peg considerably larger. I can't seem to find them again. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Thanks

AME and Fastway are the BEST. But the most expensive.

KTM sells oversized footpegs for $70 that work fine, and Moose sells handwarmers that are $45. That's the cheapest solution.

If you want to the best combo of value, i'd do the KTM footpegs and and AME hand warmers. The AME handwarmers will keep you from buying the larger stator as they will auto turn off when voltage drops too low.

I run RSI grip heaters on my KX500 with a 50watt lighting coil. They only draw about 35watts, so you may not need a bigger stator depending on what else you're running. I run a Koso EGT guage and the heaters without issues with my small lighting coil.

One tip for the stick on heaters like that, put some tape down on the left hand (non-throttle side) grip area before sticking the heater on. It helps to keep the metal handlebar from sucking all the heat away instead of heating the grip.

Foot peg wise, you can make your own wide pegs for cheap if you have access to a welder. Mine turned out really nice and held up great all season, and I have less than $15 in material in them.

zip ty racing makes the foot-peg extenders as for hand warmers I just use the yamaha soft snow deflectors over my bark busters to keep the wind of and ride with good gloves. That keeps my hands much dryer than heaters that melt the snow and than soak your gloves. It gets plenty cold her in the yukon:face-icon-small-hap you move your hands so much more on the bike that I never had a issue.

Heated gloves, now thats a good idea. What brand you using?

Other than that, Fastway for the feet and AME for the hands.

Sounds like a mans night at my place is in order yo discuss such important issues.
