Summit. A guy would think your attitude of Always giving the other guy the benefit of the doubt and not judging before you know every fact would Carry over into the customer service industry. You wanted to hang the elk view staff awhile back. Did you know every staff member personally? Maybe they had a death in the family, or just having a horrible day. How can you be so quick to judge the staff of that lodge without knowing each of those people personally?? You couldn't have possibly known the "whole" situation but you made your strong opinion on the circumstance from what you quickly observed.

I didn't think wishing some one would die, commit suicide , eat their gun ,wish the animal would have killed them etc. etc. didn't sound to civil to me you'ed have thought the guy was caught eating babies or something.

All we have to do to keep all the animals safe from people is to keep all the people out of the forest!! It works every time it's tried!! LOL

Whole different situation Mow, I deal with customers all day everyday. I have crappy days somedays and the last thing I want to do is deal with customers. Yet, I have to put a smile on my face and pretend I give 2 $hits about the customer, when really what I want is to just go home and be left the hell alone. Because that is my job, just like that is the job of the Elk View staff I had a run in with. But, like I said COMPLETELY different story, do you really think you are comparing apples to apples Mow??? I think you are kinda comparing apples to road apples.

Of course it's not the same type of situation. But if you want to Always give the benefit of the doubt to the other guy that's what you should do. Your in customer service, so you have the ability to read people and form opinions about these people based on their words and actions quickly. So your saying because of your previous experiences you can do this and be sure your decision about the people is correct.

Why don't you ask a professional with years of experience in the field of game management how they feel about the moose video?

Mow,You are comparing harmless personal behavior (customer service) to what most people here are calling criminal act Mow. Nobody here knows the whole story, wildlife management doesn't know the whole story yet. Remember Mow, this is a land of innocent until proven guilty. Proof guilt lies with the prosecution not the defense. I will I agree, the first time I watched it, I kinda thought what an idiot. But, before opening my mouth and making a knee jerk reaction I gave myself some time to think about the whole scenario. Which brings up many more questions. In criminal matters, the knee jerk heart string reactions need to be put aside and only facts looked at, which we are severely lacking. I'm sure George Zimmerman is damn glad knee jerk heart string reactions aren't weighed in the eyes of the law.

You guys are all jumping down this guys throat for a situation you don't even know about. He could have been trying to go around him prior to the video that was seen. Ya he could have tried to go around or turn around or back up (which not all sleds are equipped with) but at the end of the day I would not expose a more vulnerable side to a wild animal tippin the scale around 1/2 ton. And a moose can travel in the deep snow so going around isn't really "safe." What if he'd gone off trail to go around, his son got stuck by luck or inexperience and now you have no form of transportation out of the situation. I'm not saying I would have acted the same, cuz I deffinetly wouldn't have posted it online, but if I was put in a similar situation I might have done the same. But I most certainly would have finished the moose off, that is the only part of the video that actually sits uneasy with me.

I would have done the exact same thing. Should he let the moose attack him again, and possibly kill him? Also notice his first shot was over top of the moose as a warning. The moose kept coming so he killed the moose. Its pathetic how an animals life is worth more then human life these days! Ya he was stupid for posting the video but it was either his life or the moose. Simple decision if you ask me.

First of all don't try putting words in my mouth. Nobody said anything about being out blasting every animal we see, simply protecting the lives of me and the ones I ride with if the need ever arrises. Why would you hope anyone's riding area get closed? I thought we were all here because we enjoyed the same sport... Unfortuney that sport sometimes puts us in harms way. Don't come at me for saying that I would protect my own life or the lives of any human being that I was riding around. Screw the moose. Come at me and I'll put you down clear and simple. It's a video clip, not a major motion picture. You have absolutely zero idea what happened before the clip starts. They could have sat there for 20 mins waiting for the moose to leave. I know that I have before. But if that moose had started coming at me I'd have done the same. I'm not promoting the unlawful taking of game animals but I am saying that I'm not going to let a WILD ANIMAL endanger me or my loved ones...ever. I don't care if it's a moose or a rabid grey squirrel. There life is not more important in my eyes, never will be.

So you can continue to complain like a little girl or you can open your eyes and see that this guy, at the end of the day, did the right thing. He carry's a hand gun and he used it for it's intended purpose, protecting your life. Maybe he could have been more humane about it but I've personally see the damage a moose can do many times. And I'd never let that happen to me. But to each their own.
