Gun toting Nebraskan makes sure this robber wont rob again!

There was a study by the University of Florida back in the early 90's on the death penalty as a crime deterrant. The researchers surveyed several hundred "career" criminals (i.e. 3 or more violent/armed convictions) and found that while the DP was not a deterrant, other things were to varying degrees.

Surveyed robbers, rapists and murderers had no real fear or arrest, prison or the chair. Locks and alarm systems were seen as challenges, but the number one thing that they admitted to fearing was an armed victim. Police are trained to shoot as a last resort. John Q. Citizen typically opens fire without hesitation.

BTW Dogs were found to be the best overall deterrant to robbers...dealing with a dog is just not worth the trouble apparently

Hmmm, something sounds familiar here...something about armed citizens being safe citizens or something like that. LOL

Interesting stats. I wonder if that varies geographically around the world or even the US.

Loaded or unloaded, doesn't matter. You wave a shot gun around and someone just might be concerned enough to shoot you. Good riddance to that little bastard and awards and honors to the guy that put him down.

Shoot first, ask questions later. . . Personal safety is what matters, criminals all need to pay their dues whether it be their life or jail

Just imagine how much money this good citizen saved the taxpayers.

Tax $ would have had to have ......
housed,
fed,
tried,
and
defended that piece of crap for YRARS ON END.

Somewhere along the line "vigilante" became associated with a barbaric, fringe radical.

Let's bring honor back to vigilance!

There was an interesting map going around after the Bush/Kerry race in 04.

The counties/districts Kerry won had crime rates of about 4 times what the counties/districts Bush won. Makes sense...the poor commit most of the crime, and the poor vote Democrat because they're dumb, and easily swayed by promises of free stuff from the gummint.

The Bluer the state the higher it's unemployment and crime rates
