In my first post last night I stated that these people should be prosecuted or released. I decide to dial back the rhetoric earlier today and even apologized, some people were truly upset and offended.
Nice work abominable snowman, I comment on an issue that people feel strongly about and you turn it into a personal attack.
I consider an unbending zealot the worse enemy of this country, be it foreign or domestic. Those words should ring a bell because they were chosen carefully. Now it has been 25 years since I raised my right hand and said the words “I, Jeff Chamberlain, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same.” yet, I remember it very well when when I Joined the Army at age 17.
I’ll be the first to admit I do not have firsthand knowledge of serving our armed forces during war time but I am a veteran and consider myself a patriot.
Anyone stupid enough to believe turning suspected terrorists loose in this country will get a personal attack from me, count on it. When it comes to dealing with enemies of this country I a very "unbending". Kinda learned that one the hard way.
I don't believe you were ever in the Army. Prove it. As far as being an unbending zealot and enemy of this country you have no clue where my boots have been and how many enemies of this country I have destroyed. Tread carefully when making accusations against me.
I am sick of cutting and pasting the document that our country was founded on. We created it for a reason, read up on it, every American should know it.

To add to your statement: It applies to almost anyone within the United States with a few exceptions such as diplomatic immunity.
Guantanamo Bay is not part of the U.S.A.

Haven't I told you this before? Do you have short term memory? I have a BS in Political Science - Pre Law and I have a year of graduate school behind me. I have taken senior level Consitutional law classes as well as graduate level. I think I am more than qualified to talk about it and your jail house interpretations are a joke.

Exactly where does it say that this applies to enemys, enemy combatants, illegal immigrants? It was written to apply to Citizens of the United States. You really do not do your homework. I keep a copy of the Constitution, Declaration of Independence and the Articles of Confederation at my desk. What makes our laws apply to non citizens? I really don't remember that US laws apply to them. In the wording no person, they are refering to US Citizens. Born or naturalized. Darto, Guantanamo Bay is part of the US. There is a Marine base there, thus it is US soil.

Nice Puff...I have tried this on other threads...speaking to milehigh jail house lawyer is like talking to that dude on the street that wants money for washing your windows. Plus he thinks you are speaking in tongues when you speak with reason and real references to back it up. I usually just skip over his posts now.

Okay first of all I am not an American. I am a Canadian. I relize what your contitution says about being a US citizen etc and them not and it being a war. I was in no way saying that they should release the prisoners of Gitimo into the US thats crazy If the Canadian government did such a thing I would be the first to protest.
All I am saying is that if the roles were reversed the US would be screaming bloody murrder that there citzens were being held with out being charged. Charge them in International court and be done with it. Its the right thing to do.

Ok yes we would be screaming bloody murder, however I do not remember any American force getting into an airplane, high-jacking it and ramming it into buildings full of innocent civilians. Until the roles are turned they can suck off on calling for constitutional rights etc. They aren't being tortured, they are not being burned alive they are not jumping from upper level windows of the twin towers to keep from burning alive. So seriously get off your high horse you liberal rats. We will not allow you to run this country into the ground.
